| Posted: | | | | I'm surprised this has never been asked for before, I searched - honest! Or maybe it has, and already deemed impossible - I don't know.
Would it be possible to add a tickbox so that when you enter an asian actor's name in a profile, you can tick it (like you would with "uncredited") and the name would display in the asian format (family name first).
Example: you enter in Bai Ling as first name = Ling, last name = Bai, but when you tick the box and look at the profile it displays Bai Ling.
This would mean we don't have to use the "credited as" field to keep track of these names, and if she appears in a film as Ling Bai, the actor database would still match up the two names.
Edit: was informed Gong Li was not a good example, so changed it to Bai Ling. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

| Posted: | | | | Is only one person interested in this feature? Reading the pinned discussion on Chinese names in the contribution forum, I was expecting a lot more ayes or nays. PS. Bump! |

| Posted: | | | | Actually I would prefer renaming the fields to given name, family name and using the credited as field instead of introducing this flag. | | | Last edited: by RHo |
