| Posted: | | | | Is it possible to add an Uninstall link directly to the Win Start - All Programs menu? It's more comfortable like that, instead of going to the Control Panel. Add/Remove each time you uninstall DVDPro. | | | October 12th, 1985. Tonight, a comedian died in New York. |

Personally i like to keep things clean. No quick launch bars. Only essential programs launching at startup. Only recycle bin on desktop and start menu cleaned to make it easier to find things, like this. |

| Posted: | | | | Please don't. It does not belong there. Vista guidelinesAs clearly stated - no uninstall, and the readme should go as well. The link I supplied is for Vista, but it's nothing new - It goes for all other Windows versions as well - for example Windows 2000 (search for "Start Menu"). I remember XP had the same rule obviously, but can't seem to find the guidelines anymore - all replaced with Vista. | | | Regards Lars |

... How often are you uninstalling it??! as often as Ken releases new beta's Hmm, I have never been bothered running uninstall, and it seems to work fine. But then - I am not the type who waste my life on readme files, so maybe I missed something? | | | Regards Lars |

'Each time'? How often are you uninstalling it??! as often as Ken releases new beta's You don't have to uninstall it between versions. You are just supposed to overwrite the old version. Even the recent beta overwrites 3.02 | | | Paul |

Even the recent beta overwrites 3.02 Are you sure???? Depends where 3.0.2 is... if you downloaded it as a beta (so it is in the 'beta' folder) then installing 3.0.3 (which is a beta) will overwrite it by default as it will also use the 'beta' folder If you installed 3.0.2 after it was released it will be in the main DVDP folder so 3.0.3 will not overwrite it (unless you tell it to use the main folder of course). | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

If you installed 3.0.2 after it was released it will be in the main DVDP folder so 3.0.3 will not overwrite it (unless you tell it to use the main folder of course). and of course if you have dvd profiler installed in E:\apps\dvdprofiler then this will be over written by the latest version (beta or non beta) Interestingly enough the v2 program used to add a BETA to the directory created. It seems that it will never do this if you select your destination directory. Not sure if this is good (feature) or bad (bug) | | | Paul | | | Last edited: by pauls42 |
