Hi,

while I'm currently in the process of spell checking the overviews of my whole collection, this came to my mind.
Why not integrate e.g. the Word spell checker directly into the Overview editor?
Of course we can copy&paste into Word, but a direct spell check would be more comfortable and probably more people would run a spell check before contributing...

This could wind up having you correct typos in the Overview which are from the DVD distributor and we don't do that.

I'm not suggesting to correct typos that are already on the cover (I would suggest distributors to use spell checkers though  ).
However, I find a lot of additional typos in the overviews, like missing/extra/interchanged characters.
A spell checker easily would catch those...

Where would you take all spell checkers for different languages?

Perhaps some kind of Firefox/DVDP plugin which makes the spell checking in Firefox. There are several spell checking dictionaries available for Firefox.

There appears also to be add-ons for IE for spell checking. If the Overview edit field is also generated through the IE engine, maybe those are usable there.

For those who want to try, this was the first one I found through Google: ieSpell

ya_shn is correct, you would need to create your own overview section and that spell checker would work

Another way would be to write the overview in something like word or even wordpad whereby you can put the text into italics or bold where needed then paste it into DVDP overview window.

Oops...my mistake. Thought there would be as its a step up from Notepad.

Only use Word myself.
