| Posted: | | | | I remember that there were some discussion in old forum about titles including for example director's name before the actual title, but I cannot remember what was the common agreement.
Is the correct title for example Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds or just The Birds? |

So, if the opening credits say "Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds", then that is what you enter into DVD Profiler. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Unless the DVD title on the cover is different when whatever you see on the cover is the title and what you see on the movie is the Original Title | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

However this is ambiguous because saying "Take if from cover if it's different" brings us back to using "Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds" since THAT what is on the DVD, catch 22. Has this been brought up in the contribution rules committee ? | | | My 4x4 Club: Club FJ Cruiser Quebec DVDP Français: Forum DVD Profiler Français DVDCOL:DVD Collectors Online Video: LG RU-42PX10 Audio: Sony DreamSystem DAVFX100W |

| Posted: | | | | And then what if the Director's name is in (slightly or much) smaller print than the title? I think the title on the movie credits should have precedence, since the DVD is the medium, not the message. And of course, sometimes the movie title is translated on the cover, and then you use that, with original title. But just creating a new title by combining the title with other information that is on the cover is arbitrary. | | | Hans |
