| Posted: | | | | I mentioned this in the contribution forum, perhaps it would be a good idea to feature the following.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to have a checkbox or something in the dvd's profile that shows that the DVD has been postponed or cancelled for these few cases.
This would be helpful especially in upcoming releases. If a title is checked as being postponed/cancelled in it's profile then when adding titles to the database the user can easily see that info and then choose if they still want to add it to their collection.
This has nothing to do with titles going out of print, but only those few cases where a title is postponed/cancelled for any reason. So this wouldn't affect very many titles at all.
I guess the best place in the profile to place the checkbox would be as a pull-down option during the entry for the release date. |

| Posted: | | | | I think something like this could be good... if it is checked as postponed then it could be set to not show up in the coming releases section of Add DVD... and if it gets checked as canceled that could flag it for Ken for removal. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Why would it need to removed, titles get postponed and cancelled frequently. They always make it ...eventually. Author, Author just made it finally...a year and a half late but it made it. I, personally don't find this to be a anything other than much ado about nothing, when then a title gets there andis postponed it just sits, sometimes I will change my local info and sometimes not, when I get updated data, I will update the file, I can't remember which title it was but there was one a few years back, that got announced and cancelled every year for three years, it finally made it. Just doesn't strike me as all that big a deal.

| Posted: | | | | I don't know skip... I think it has potential... especially if he can fix it so that it either don't show up in the Upcoming Releases screen or have it just noted that it was postponed/canceled.
Is it absolutely necessary?... no. But it is something that could be helpful. I know there was at least once or twice that I had something in my wishlist that I went to look for it after the noted release date with no luck... only later to find out it was postponed. If there was something in the profile that told me it was postponed or what have you... it would have saved me some searching. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | The only thing that I might be able to see of value would be adding alpha cahracters to date of release, so it could be changed to TBA.

| Posted: | | | | I would be happy with either way of handling it. I just think that the basic idea is a good one for the reason I said. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | This also would help those users who aren't so up to date on release date changes or even postponed or cancelled dates.
So they can easily see when adding a title to their wishlist that a certain title has been cancelled or postponed and it gives them further info to help them decide if they still want to add it or not.
I guess that in the 'Upcoming Releases' screen that the background could be color coded to a different color to indicate that the release has been postponed/cancelled, perhaps to red.
I suppose that these could be flagged by the program and that those titles that are affected would be color coded "Red" the same way as the "New Releases" can be flagged to display as "Green". |

| Posted: | | | | Panic in Needle Park has had its release date changed (delayed) far too often, IMO.
What about DVDs that are OOP (like Twin Peaks Season 1)? | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges. DVD Profiler user since June 15, 2001 |
