| Posted: | | | | Just wondering how many other people would like to see the total number of discs as well as titles. I would as I have a lot of tv series with 7 or so discs each. |

| Posted: | | | | Exactly my attitude, I'm collecting mostly tv-series. There are many options to count the profiles: some users count every single disc of a box set and some only count the box, regardless of the number of disc's.
E.G. I have a tv-series containig 16 dvd's - i count this as #1 in the profiler! | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |

| Posted: | | | | LOL, I also track in several forms for a variety of reasons. Ken would need to add something to the program that allows to enter the number of Discs in a set. I am suree this would be useful for many, but I am not sure I want to know, I project somewhere in the area of 5000 total discs. <shivering> You don't want to what the Discount Report says.

Or the 2nd and 3rd disc in sets like the Wizard of Oz? This would require adding another field (i believe) to tell you how many discs are included. That new field would not be accurate for those who do use child profiles. Their discs would be added to the main profile + DVDP would count the children in the total count. IMO - if you want to count the number of discs just add the child profiles that are already available. You can number just the parent so as to not increase your "bought" number but still know how many profiles you have. |

Skip Agree, but a man must surrender to the facts (and to his wife!) | | | Thorsten |

| Posted: | | | | No I wouldnt want it to count bonus discs. Just multiple discs where the extra discs have the same content as the forst one (ie tv series). If profiler counted my discs rather than my titles it would probably add around 150 to the count, and I havent even finished going through the backlog |

| Posted: | | | | I would like to to reintroduce this feature request. Somewhere in the general info the to show how many discs are in a profile. This is useful for many reasons. Many people have introduced the fact they have a TV series that is one profile with 20 discs. I have this issue as well as owning movie sets which have anywhere from 3 to 15 discs in them. That is why I believe this would be a great field to have. I also am curious to see how many discs I have around my house. Just my two cents and I hope Ken will look into it...
Thanks for listening, Marcus |

| Posted: | | | | It should be easy to implent by just adding up all the different Disc-IDs used in the actual collection. |

But there are lots of profiles with missing [not yet contributed] Disc ID, at least for some Localities So there is another motivation for the people to improve the database. |

But there are lots of profiles with missing [not yet contributed] Disc ID, at least for some Localities In addition to the motivation to improve the database as SpaceFreak said, if you added a new field with disc count, it would be blank (ie wrong) on every existing profile. If you did it via already there discs-ids it would be correct for a whole lot more. Then if you don't want child profiles (disc level) put the disc-id in the main profile, if you do, don't put the disc id in the main profile. It might then be useful to add a flag (though the disc description may work) for bonus disc so you can tell it to not count bonus discs if you so choose. I believe TomGaines supplied a query (that I think you would use with one of his plugins) in a different thread that would give you this count. edit, Found the post, its using his Cinematic Collection Viewer -Agrare | | | Last edited: by Agrare |

| Posted: | | | | I would quite like a field on the main screen which shows the number of discs in the set. It's also a good idea to have this based on the Disc ID entry. The programme can automatically add up the number of discs from the Disc ID and show that.
As already said, this will vastly reduce the number of profiles which need to be edited and should help get more disc IDs into the db for those titles currently without them. |
