I own a few (usually magazine) DVDs with 18-digit EANs: a normal 13-digit EAN shared with other titles of the same collection, plus 5 trailing digits unique to that individual DVD.
I'd like that DVDP3 could handle those long EANs.

In Germany periodical publications such as weekly magazines have a standard EAN and an additional barcorde which contains the issue like this. Maybe Finland uses something similar.

There is an optional 5-digit EAN supplement used for DVDs that are bundled with newspapers, magazines, books.

Here is a barcode from another DVD cover, same magazine, different issue:

Of course that's what I'm doing.
But now I am requesting a feature, so that DVDP could handle those  codebars with a 5-digit supplement and allow multiple profiles.

It already does...it's called DISC ID.

Like Steve says you have figured out the answer, use the Disc-ID, forget it and move on toi the next item. Sheesh. That is one of the reasons we have Disc ID. In short, it's not needed.

From my experience DVDs that come with magazines and newspapers often do not always have a unique Disc ID as well the not having the unique 13 digit UPC, so disc-id is not a solution.

I have some cases in my collection that do not match the online title due to duplicate UPCs and Disc IDs (not aways with the same title in each case), so I can't contribute, and get no updates. Similarly I have a couple of manual profiles as there are duplicates of both ID and UPC in my collection.

Seems like this would be useful functionality, and would not harm anything.

It already does...

Edit: But you cannot add it by UPC/EAN.
I know you can add any unrecognized DVDs by disc ID, but I would like to add them by codebar number.

(Thanks for the explanatory PM anyway!)
