| Posted: | | | | Would it be possible to have a checkbox similar to the "uncredited" checkbox for cast members who are credited in the movie/episode credits, but don't actually appear in said movie/episode?
This happens fairly regularly in TV series, where a main/regular cast member is indeed credited, but does not appear in the episode. (E.g. the final episode of The Sopranos credits at least 1 regular cast member who does not appear in the episode, due to him being killed off in an earlier episode.) Also, it can happen in movies that are re-edited before release, removing a cast member's scenes but not his/her credit. |

| Posted: | | | | That is interesting... especially with all the TV Series I own... I know how often a main cast (credited in opening credits in every episode) don't at times appear in the episode and they are credited anyway... this would give use a better idea. I think I like it.... got my vote. Though I am not sure what I would have the check box be called. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I'd like that. Yes, I would be curious to find out when a regular cast member didn't appear in an episode. | | | -- Enry | | | Last edited: by White Pongo, Jr. |

| Posted: | | | | This would be a local thing right...not contributed to the main database? Because in order to verify a contribtion one would have to watch the complete episode to ensure said actor really doesn't make an appearance in the episode. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Aside from that, actors in TV series roles are under contract, and the contract spells out how, and how often they are billed in the credits. Even if they don't appear in a particular episode, they are still part of the cast, under contract, and deserve that credit in each show. Unless, of course, you think they sign new paperwork for each episode? Not likely. | | | John

| Posted: | | | | I disagree, this should be in the main database. Why would it be any different, it is not personal info, it is factual. The whole idea of the DVDP model is that info is shared. If everyone is personally checking all contributions to check they are correct before voting/accepting then it defeats the whole purpose. And in response to Rifters point, that clearly misses the idea of the suggestion, they will still have their credit, we will just have the additional info that they do not actually appear. | | | Andy

| Posted: | | | | I agree... this should be contributed to the main database... it does not take away from them being credited... it actually keeps their credit... but has something on the order of (Absent) or something like that after their name for that episode.
Makes sense to me at least. | | | Pete |

Makes sense to me at least. That's how I see it too. Anyway, if we can't have it online, let's have it locally at least. | | | -- Enry |

Are you saying I'm supposed to blindly vote yes to everything that comes down the pike? What's the point of voting at all then? | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |
