British actors Charles Lloyd Pack and Roger Lloyd Pack are father and son, and it seems that "Lloyd Pack" is their family name:

Roger:

http://www.filmreference.com/film/65/Roger-Lloyd-Pack.html

Charles:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Lloyd_Pack
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0655436

The actress Emily Lloyd is Roger Lloyd Pack's daughter, further confirming that Lloyd is part of the family name:
http://film.guardian.co.uk/Player/Player_Page/0,,45400,00.html

However, like LOTS of British actors with 2 surnames, they are sometimes credited with a hyphen, in this case as "Lloyd-Pack". Checking my collection it seems that "Lloyd Pack" is a little bit more frequent than "Lloyd-Pack".

What common name should be chosen for these two actors? And how should it be parsed? (I've only used Charles in the poll, but it's meant for both of them.)

Another link for Roger:
here

His surname's always been Lloyd Pack as long as I've seen him on TV - and he's on a lot of TV over here!

Kind of like prime minister David Lloyd George; his last name is Lloyd George.  I think it's a Welsh thing...

Using the credit look-up tool gives you a conflict between father and son.

The credit look-up tool is nice, but some playing with it shows me that it's at least 75% IMDb-data - as I expected. I tried about forty names on which I (and/or the forum) have made a different "common name" choice then IMDb did, and on almost all of them, the IMDb-name came up with a huge majority. That's not about parsing, I know, but it does indicate that while I think the feature can (and probably will) be very helpful in the future, I don't think we should start completely relying on it already. Needless to say, I agree with the majority of the voters in this thread that it should be Roger//Lloyd Pack and Charles//Lloyd Pack.

Agreed. The reason Roger Lloyd-Pack is more common in the database than Roger Lloyd Pack is certainly that IMDB uses the hyphenated variant. Many profiles in the credit search show him as Roger Lloyd-Pack even though I've personally checked these profiles and confirmed that he is credited without the hyphen.
