| Posted: | | | | In the technical thread, I noted a problem that I (and apparently some others) have been having for some time with the invelos icon not showing on my Firefox bookmarks. Although tests were inconclusive, there is a small chance that this is could be fixed by replacing the icon from the website (SiteIcon.ico) (an old 7-image icon) with the latest 8-image icon from release 3.1. Ken, could you do this as a quick job and then tell us so we can see if it makes a difference? Stuart | | | This is a sig... ... ... yay...

| Posted: | | | | Stuart: Of course it's up to Ken. But please explain why this is IMPORTANT, it means absolutely nothing to me and i can't imagine why it would be anywhere but the absolute lowest priority on things that would need fixing. Skip Why've you taken such personal offense to this one? Simple answer is that it isn't 'IMPORTANT', but neither is pretty much any feature request. It's a simple change that improves outwards appearance of the company. You could ask why bother with a favicon in the first place, but the answer is simply 'because it makes the company look more professional'. It's not a big change - when I did an upload of the same icon to my webspace to perform the test it took less than two minutes. It's a low impact, very low risk, very quick change. A better question might be to ask 'why not do it?' Stuart | | | This is a sig... ... ... yay...

| Posted: | | | | Sadly it didn't work. I guess I'll just have to live with it until Mozilla get around to fixing whatever issues is affecting Firefox. Thanks for trying. Stuart | | | This is a sig... ... ... yay...

Stuart It's not just Firefox, I am using IE7 and I don't see it anymore either. Edit: Could it be that the browsers want it named "favicon.ico"? I know that's what all the sites like NBC, Pepsi, etc use. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... | | | Last edited: by NewEnglander |

Edit: Could it be that the browsers want it named "favicon.ico"? I know that's what all the sites like NBC, Pepsi, etc use. I don't think so - I know it works for non-icon files as well as icon files named differently to "favicon.ico". "Favicon.ico" is a standard that no-one really adheres to any more because it's so outdated. Take a look at the thread reference in my first post for more detail.
