I have just one credit for this actor in my database: he's credited in 'Meet Joe Black' as Stephen Adly-Guirgis. A few sources, like tcmdb.com and bfi.org.uk, list him as such. Others, like imdb.com, use Stephen Adly Guirgis (without hyphen). The new "credit lookup" tool shows more hits with hyphen, but only in two different titles, whereas the variant without hyphen returns less hits, but in more different titles. What should I use as his "common name"?

I've sent an e-mail to his agent (address found here: http://www.newdramatists.org/stephen_adly_guirgis.htm ) to ask about this, so hopefully I will receive an answer. I think he should be credited without the hyphen (after googling him + seeing the link above). Also, his name is written without the hyphen on this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Jesus-Hopped-Train-Programming-Text/dp/0413772136/ref=sr_1_4/002-7871274-4146436?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1190021129&sr=1-4

I'm unsure about the parsing. The "LAByrinth Theater Company" lists him under "G" in their alphabetical list of members, though: http://www.labtheater.org/companymembers/memberslist.html

I will post any e-mail answer I receive here. Until I receive an answer telling me otherwise, I think the evidence suggests a common name of Stephen / Adly / Guirgis

Following up my previous post: I have now received the following answer from Stephen Adly Guirgis' agent, John Buzzetti:

Quote:
it should be filed as guirgis, stephen adly

So, the correct common name should then be Stephen / Adly / Guirgis

Interesting, makes his credits as Stephen Adly-Guirgis rather weird... But hey, his agent should know...

Thanks for the effort from me too.
