| Posted: | | | | Right now there is only the General Info tab which contains both info about the film itself and the DVD too.
It's also a little cramped with details. I think it maybe a good idea to separate the two into the following.
"Film Info" - would contain the following info.
Title Genres Produced (And CoO) Studios(Production and Theatrical Release companies/studios) Rating Logo (for g, PG, R whatever) Review
"DVD Info" - would contain the following info.
Running Time Case Type Studio (DVD Distributor Only) Release Date Purchased SRP Price Paid UPC # Region Format Logo (DVD or either of the High Def formats)
And of course the General Info tab would be replaced with these two tabs.
This would allow for a less cluttered look and be able to include DVD distributor for each DVD and even more space on the Film Info tab for more studios. |

| Posted: | | | | I disagree. The General Info pane makes good use of the area it occupies. Much better than the waste of space by the Features, Audio/Video and Subtitles tabs. Those annoyed me so much that I combined their content all into a single HTML section: Features+. | | | Matthias |

| Posted: | | | | I don't personally see the need for it either (though I would love to see the studios seperated)... but even if this was done... shouldn't running time be in the film section... not the DVD section... after all it is the movie's length that we capture. not the combined of everything on the DVD. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I was thinking that the running time would be of the main feature or the combined running time of the episodes of a series contained in the set.
Why I think it would belong in the DVD section is that the DVD running time of a film can be different than the original running time of the film itself, such as with extended or director's cuts.
I was merely suggesting a way to create more room for the studios in which some cases the DVD distributor can't be included because of the limited space on the tab. Having the film & DVD info separate would create more space on the tab for this. |

| Posted: | | | | still believe that the running time would be in the film section as that is the length you are capturing... not the length of the entire DVD. (film/episodes and all extras)
And still see no need to separate the 2 sections... all we really need is a new field for the Distributor studio. I personally don't feel that the section is so over crowded that we need a whole new section. but of course that is just my opinion on the matter. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | A separation of Studios (Production/Theatrical Release vs. DVD) would be very useful. As far as the cluttering in one Tab goes: isn't there any skin out there that will make it more to your liking?
One final remark: be careful where to put Rating. In some countries the rating system for DVDs is different from the one for films in the theatre (Belgium is one of them). |

Ever heard of PAL speedup, Pete ? On a PAL disc the running time is shorter than on an NTSC disc, thus it doesn't make any sense to keep this info in the film section. I think the tab separation would be a good idea, simply because it would be a first step towards separating movie and DVD infos - ultimately leading to having one cast and crew entry for a movie instead of having this for every DVD release. Removing the necessity of entering cast and crew separately for every release and thus having a massive and totally superfluous duplication of data would be my number one priority if I was the Profiler's developer. | | | Michael |

The problem when replacing the General Info tab with a custom HTML section: It contains all those pretty little icons. Some of them could be mimiced by a skin, but the one that indicates the availability of an update cannot. Of course you could add your own movie and DVD HTML sections as tabs to the General Info window and only switch to the default one if you need the indicators. | | | Matthias |

And I would strongly support it, if all of those status info (changes made, updates available) would be available for HTML sections. Also the possibility for a HTML section to open the cast & crew cross link window for a person or to show his head shot would be welcome. |

If you click the cast/crew link in an HTML section, the cross link window opens. | | | Matthias | | | Last edited: by goodguy |

But I would still welcome possible integration of head shots and status icons into HTML sections |
