Hello,

I own a notebook and an PC and now an external harddrive directly connected to my router. Now I'm planning to use the external for all my data's. I would like to see, that I can install DVDprofiler at both, the PC and notrebook, yet the database, I want to put on the external drive.

Therefore I would like to see an option, where I can assign a path to the database myself, instead of using the samepath as the application.

Because If I install DVDprofiler on the external drive, and I want to run it from there, I keep getting Windows XP security settings asking me if I want to run the app.

with kind regards,

Hans

Since version 3.0 you can put the database whereever you want.

Just go and create a new database 'Fille->Open Database->New Database'. I have mine on a network share.

with 3.x you can add additional databases.

After you installed the porgram you run it and choose File->Open Database.

Then you create one on the network drive.

On the second computer you choose the browse button and select the same database on the nw drive.

It's time for the 'portable application' topic again !
see this topic
It's not only the database which needs sharing, but also the layouts, reports, plugins etc.
