I use the "slot" entry for each DVD in my collection.

I'm fed up with opening edition window (Ctrl+E), Clic "Add Disc", Close window to confirm, reopen edition window (Ctrl+E), set the slot entry of the newly created disc then close again to confirm.
Would be cool if we have an "Apply" button (confirm and keeps window open).

Great idea!
I hate going in to add my location/slot info only to find there's no disc in the profile yet.

And there's a lot more use for an apply button!

How many times has someone worked on a cast list, adding names, roles, reordering, etc etc etc and lost every thing because of a crash? or a blackout? or a wrong maneuver?

I personally would love an apply button, or even better, profiler should save the changes to the profile everytime we move to a new section (from general to language, to overview, to etc. etc.)

Ok, I'm probably missing something here, but why do you need to close the window between adding the disc and setting the slot?

Because the slot isn't available until after the window has been closed, thus "applying" the change.

I'd like to see this also ...

Oh, I see. Wouldn't it be easier to request that the slot was made always available, or at least as soon as a disc has been added? I don't really see any practical reason why the user should be forced to apply changes before setting the slot. But maybe there's something else that I'm missing...?

I could possibly see a use for an Apply button for the reasons that RossRoy mentions, even though I have never really felt any need for one myself.

But then again, if you guys feel an Apply button would be useful, I certainly won't protest.
