| Posted: | | | | I am getting more and more DVD's that has a descriptive audio track, meant for the visually impaired, it seems (the first one I got of these was Scary Movie 4 - I actually thought they meant it as a joke).
It doesn't really fit in as Commentary, so the ones I ahve so far are all entered as Other (not by me). Bottom line: We need a new audio "language" called "Descriptive" or something along those lines... | | | The future is here. It's just not widely distributed yet. (William Gibson) |

| Posted: | | | | I've noticed a couple of these recently on some discs as well. I agree for the need of some sort of a descriptive language choice for these oddities... | | | Corey |

| Posted: | | | | I really like the idea, but there is a main problem: The descriptive audio track can be in a different language than the local country has. For example, the German DVD of "Bad Santa" has an English audio description track... |

But it seems to me that northbloke's suggestion just aimed to sort out that issue Quoting northbloke: Quote:

| Posted: | | | | I agree with this.
At the moment having the track listed as 'Other' and adding 'Audio Description Track' to Other Features is inelegant.
I think the track should be listed as the language it is in with a tick box to indicate if it's AD. |

| Posted: | | | | Agree. Ideally, it should be defined like any other audio track, with a checkbox to indicate that it i for the hearing impared (or whatever wording Ken prefers). |

I think you mean "for the visually impaired." I doubt that descriptive audio would be of much use to someone who is hearing impaired. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. Still, the same principle applies in both cases. |
