| Posted: | | | | Hi!
I think it would be great if I had the possibility to search for the UPC. This way I could just scan the barcode of a movie to find it (very useful if someone wants to lend some movies). Typing in the title is a little more work.

| Posted: | | | | Hi, it would be great to get this function by only pressing F10 (without Alt). IMO F10 has no other function in Profiler. Sure i would prefer this because i can configure my barcode scanner to send F10 as preamble But it's just simplier to press F10 instead of Alt+F10. jenz |

I know there used to be a small plugin/HTML window which could select profiles by UPC, possibly even flag them automatically. I couldn't find it just now, but I have downloaded it before and could send it to you from home.
Basically it's a small window, that I simply added to the Filter/Set Tags window, where you have one input field for the UPC. You can enter the UPC manually or via the barcode scanner, the the list gets filtered accordingly (IIRC). | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | Hi ya_shin, just after my post yesterday I found the PlugIn you mean. ( UPC Filter Plugin by Tlevel) It's a quite good improvement for users with a barcode scanner like me! So, I apologize, and Alt+F10 doesn't need any change However, thank you for your hint. |

However, thank you for your hint. Sorry, was going to reply to you earlier, just trying to work out a little enhancement that you mentioned about sending an Alt char with the UPC code then I could intercept it right away. Glad you like it though. | | | The Other DVD Forum Why do people who know the least know it the loudest? |

| Posted: | | | | I like it? I'm going to love it! Thank you for your work! By the way... I was just thinking about to activate the UPC filter input field by sending a special key or something with the barcode scanner ... just to save a mouse click |

This will allow me to (albeit not very flashy) do an inventory/stock take of my collection. (That's something quite often requested in the Feature Requests.) Just scan like crazy by using the flag option, invert the flags, and print the list of "missing" items. Marvelous! | | | --- ¡Hola! |

By the way... I was just thinking about to activate the UPC filter input field by sending a special key or something with the barcode scanner ... just to save a mouse click Just testing out a couple of things. Used F3 instead of F10, works like a charm, (now that I figured out how to send F3 prefix with my scanner). Now I can scan, edit something, scan another one without having to worry about where the cursor is. Great idea, thanks, should have it ready soon. | | | The Other DVD Forum Why do people who know the least know it the loudest? |

Well, using the few holidays over the past week, I used the plugin with my barcode scanner to do an inventory and managed to check the whole lot (about 3500 entries) in just over 10 hours. That included opening each case/box to check for 1 missing disc. Still haven't found the missing disc, but I did find around 5 discs in my collection not in Profiler and about 50 for which the UPC and/or location in Profiler was wrong. And several of which the UPC Barcode does not scan or scans incorrectly. Great plugin! | | | --- ¡Hola! | | | Last edited: by Johan1FS |
