Thanks for the heads up about The Sarah Connor Chronicles!  I had forgotten to schedule them to record on my DVR.

I have a home-built DVR with two nVidia DualTV cards so I can record up to 4 shows at the same time.  I'm using Beyond TV as my DVR software and have used it for a couple years now and love it.  I wired my house with a gigabit network and using Beyond TV Link, I can watch my recorded TV shows on a HTPC system set up in my bedroom that streams the shows from the BTV server.

You can pick up tuner cards and USB devices to record your shows, just about any you find work with BTV.  The DualTV cards from nVidia are one of the best but nVidia no longer sells them for some reason though you can find them on eBay from time to time.

BTV has a trial period so you can pick up a capture card for around $100 and be up and running within a hour or two if you have a cable line to your PC.
