Bonus View and BD Live should be options for the feature list on Blu-Ray discs.

If someone could enlighten me...

Other than staring at the disc really hard how will we determine these features are available?

BD Live titles will have "BD Live" somewhere on the packaging. Other than that, only place would be from press releases for Bonus View.

Edit: The back of Lionsgate' "War" says "Picture in Picture commentary requires Profile 1.1 player" or something to that effect.

And that's what i was asking, how to verify this.

If, like pplchamp says, it's on the jacket great.
If a key is needed to translate

Profile X <=> Feature Y

we might want a pinned topic.

I agree. However, I think the names should be generic, because HD DVD has the same features. I propose "Picture-in-Picture" and "Web Enabled" as alternative names.

I disgreee.  It needs to be listed on Blu-Ray for player compatibility reasons, which aren't an issue for HD DVD.  There are ways to do picure-in-picture that do work with old players (such as burning it in), so generic PPiP labeling won't be adequate.

Those are not features but player/disc profiles (more or less advanced versions of Blu-ray discs that have legacy support for players that only support the initial interim profile).

BonusView (Picture in Picture) and BD Live (Web enabled) are not only profiles, but they are features.

Blu-ray also has picture in picture that is "burnt in" to a second encode of the movie. That would fall under a generic "Picture in picture" checkbox.

IMO "burnt in" picture in picture is just as you have noted yourself a second movie and not a special feature at all.

It's far more useful to know that a disc is profile 1.0, 1.1 or 2.0 (or whatever names you wish to use).  Knowing that a movie has picture-in-picture doesn't tell you if your player will play the disc or not.  Knowing which profile the disc is will.

I don't know if it should be under features, but the 1.0 vs 1.1 vs 2.0 profile for discs is important (if not vital) information that needs to be recorded somewhere.
