| Posted: | | | | Hi All (& Ken),
Would it be possible to have a public known bug list? I like to contribute by reporting all anomalies I find, but it is often very hard to search the forums if something is already a known issue. Often the search does not turn up usable results and secondly it is _very_slow (often over 30 seconds), discouraging multiple tries.
With a public bug list it woudl be trivial to check if an anomaly is worth the time and forumspace mentioning it, and it would warn users for known issues in advance.
And if Invelos would make us all very happy, the list could even indicate if/when a bug can be expected to be fixed -)

| Posted: | | | | As long as only Invelos has write access. So if we'd see a bug described there it would mean it is a real bug, and not like the current technical and request forums where everyone (including yours truly) can spew ideas and present wishes or misunderstood features as bugs.
But personally I'd prefer it on the website under support or FAQs. That is where I think an average user would look for update info, changelists, known bugs etc. On a forum you'd expect user-discussed issue, what I'd like from the company is an acknowledgement and optionally information about issues like "we know this is is an issue and we will/might/won't fix it in the near/far future".
Then again: I know maintaining these things take time and I realize a once-per-user 30 dollar fee is not going to feed a developer for very long after he has paid for his bandwidth... |

| Posted: | | | | Agreed on the write access. I still would put it as a pinned topic in the "technical support" forum, because it's evident that not many people look in the support section of the Invelos site, that's why there are always returning questions like what to do if a profile is not in the database etc. In addition it can be put to the "Support" | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | Of course, the best thing to do would be a bugzilla-style system, so you can track both bugs and feature requests (distinguished by different status'). I think that it's even a pretty standard option in these programs for users to assign votes for getting them fixed (e.g. everyone get ten votes that they can allocate to the ten bugs/features they most want). Plus, being open source, they're both free and dead-easy to set up. Go on Ken, you know you want to Stuart | | | This is a sig... ... ... yay...
Don't understand? Maybe DVDProfilerWiki.org does! |
