How about a feature that allows us to see what is in the queue to download (updated DVD profiles) this would allow us to decide what needs to be downloaded without having to fire up DVD Profiler.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what's the point? Either you "fire up" DVD Profiler and click "Refresh Updated Profiles From Invelos" or you "fire up" your browser and check the "queue". What's the difference? If there are any updates, you'll have to "fire up" DVD Profiler anyways, right? Besides, can you imagine how large this queue would be? It would have to list every update for every title, for every region for every locality and the "queue" wouldn't know what DVDs you own because it doesn't have access to your local database. Try browsing a list that size to see if any of your profiles have updates.

While I don't necessarily see the need for a web-based version of the updated profiles list, I would think that such a version would be able to query your online collection to narrow down the list.

That's assuming your Invelos Online Collection is always up to date . I don't know what sort of load this would put on the Invelos servers with all these database queries but it could slow things down. Personally I think it's more trouble than what it's worth...but that's just my opinion.

My idea is actually around the fact that I am away from my main computer and Profiler database for lengths of time and would like to know how much work I have to come back to.

Astrakan had it right about using the web based version of the profile in the same way that voting, locks and links works today, I would like to see which ones have changed sine my last upload.

I understand that, ritch, but it doesn't seem viable. I would guess that on any given day, and this is purely a guess, 1000 or more titles are updated worldwide every day. Let's say 1000 OK so now I filter on R1 US; I am still going to be looking at several hundred updates, a large number of which are not going to berelevant to me since I don't have them in my collection, but there is no way to filter it further. A lot of users, take the program and their library with them on a USB key, they ca then plug that into any computer and run the program from right there. I only wish I could do that...I could use a portable USB hard drive, but thus far I maintain my collection on my desktop and my laptop which I ALWAYS travel with and I ALWAYS make sure that any place I am going has some form of access, preferably broadband. It's never failed me in 8 years, I think there has been a maximum of 49 hours one time that was totally incommunicado...but that was a long time ago.
