| Posted: | | | | If it has a slipcover, than the scan of the slipcover should be the entire slipcover. So if the slipcover has the banner, it should be in the scan itself and not added by the program. If it doesn't have a banner, it shouldn't appear. Unless I'm missing something here, I think Ken got it right. I'd guess you're either seeing what you should be seeing or you shouldn't have slipcover checked. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | I was thinking the same thing relative to Star Trek, Mark. It has no banner therefore it should not have one in the program.

| Posted: | | | | I think cvermeylen is addressing something I've also seen lately, slipcovers that only cover the regular cover of a BD case, and leave the banner part of the case bare. The UK release of Shrooms is one such example, although both submissions of the cover scans to date do not include any form of banner. Maybe it's just simpler to leave it that way. |

| Posted: | | | | You are right about the banner not being part of the slipcover, but it would allow consistent displaying of al High Def discs, be it Blu-Ray or HD-DVD
Besides, for regular High-def covers, the banner isn't part of it either, the banner is actually part of the case type. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | Well, that does make sense. I suppose the easiest thing to do would be to add the standard DVDP banner to the front scan, I can't say I'd like to do that myself though. |

We don't do anymore consistency than Hollywood does. If there is no banner then we don't do one either, we don't invent anything that does not exist. You can change you cover definition if just have to have a non-existent banner locally but that is a local call, not an Online call.

| Posted: | | | | I agree with Skip... what we try to be consistant in is the accuracy to the dvd release you are profiling... not to other releases. | | | Pete |

Skip Skip, Then why do we display the blu-ray or hd-dvd banner at all, since it isn't part of any cover? | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | I think a simple "force HD banner" option in the options menu would fix the problem. It would add the banner to all HD media, no matter what the case type is. |

Skip,
Then why do we display the blu-ray or hd-dvd banner at all, since it isn't part of any cover? Ah but it is. Admittedly part of the case, but there is no such specialized design in DVDLand. And that is adiscussion that was held a looong time ago. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | Skip, Then I fail to see why it should matter the disc has a slip cover or not. Maybe a selectable option in the program / or per profile. Then anyone can do whatever he likes without annoying somebody else | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | You see that I noted it is PERSONAL call, cver and one which can be dealt with right now. As long as we understand that it is not on Online issue but a PERSONAL one then there is no disagreement. The way you deal with it right now is by your PERSONAL case choice.

| Posted: | | | | I am indeed talking about the display in the program and not the online database.
Is this a configurable option I might have missed? | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | In terms of RIGHT now, yes and no. There IS a check box in the Options/Display BUT that will NOT entirely solve the problem for you locally. The HD or BD banner is tied to the Case type (which is as itr should be) and not to the media type. So in the here and now, in order to display the banner for all of your titles you would have to use one of HD case types regardless of reality. For example, Star Trek is a Custom Case and has no banner, for you to display the banner Online you would have to use HD Slim or HD Keep since we have NO HD Custom. Does that help you...NOTE this only applies to NOW, not what might be done tomorrow (in future versions).
