Does anyone know this brand of flat-TVs? Are they any good?

My neighbour bought one a few weeks ago (46" I believe), and while I think the picture-quality is pretty good, I do seem to think there are some problems with it, like black areas that appear brighter when viewed from a slight angle (not all the black, but parts of it)...

Also, they have some problems with it getting very hot - in fact so hot that if it has been on for 3-4 hours and they turn it off, it then refuses to come on again for 30-45 mintues... Okay, we have had some very hot days, but still...

They do seem to be very cheap - about half the price of (what I think of as) quality brands like Sony, Pioneer, Loewe and Metz - which for me rings an alarm bell... Is that justified?

On a side-note: Does LG rank as a quality brand in flat screens? What about NAD? I know they make (or at least did) some of the best HiFi-equipment, but how do they do on the flat screens?
The future is here. It's just not widely distributed yet. (William Gibson)

Never heard of them until now. They're produced by DiBoss in Korea which touts itself as being the world's leading supplier of commercial displays. With the problems you discribe however I would steer clear, even if they cost 1/2 as much as a comparably sized name brand.

like everything you get what you pay for - if you get a cheap brand then that is probably cheap for a reason.
