| Posted: | | | | It would be handy to have two tabs in the Desktop software and online for DVD and Blu-ray/HD-DVD.
Is that planned? Thanks. | | | Last edited: by bradavon |

| Posted: | | | | Using the existing filters in place today meets my needs just fine. In addition, I have an HD profile with HD DVD and Blu-ray child profiles with my HD DVDs and Blu-rays sorted appropriately. While I can't speak for everyone, those features more than meet my needs. And as soon as you add tabs for this, there will be 100 other requests for other tabs to be added. Better to go with something like the MyTabs plug-in if your needs still aren't met. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Skip The only real problem I see with what we have is that I can't get ALL my hi-def movies to filter all at once. I can get all my Blu-ray's by themselves and I can get all my HD DVD's by themselves, but I can't get all the Blu-ray's and HD DVD's together. The sticky issue here appears to be dual format combo HD DVD/DVD releases. If I fitler for both Blu-ray and HD DVD movies then that's what I get, just straight BD and HD movies. Any HD DVD/DVD combos are left out. If I try to add DVD's into the mix, then the filter just throws in all DVD's instead of only the combo discs. So unless there's some combination of the blank, grey, black checkboxes for the filter that I'm somehow missing to make this work, then he has a point that we can't filter for hi-def vs standard def movies in our collections. | | | "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" - Douglas Bader "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams |

| Posted: | | | | Tabs would not help fix that, vega. That is simply something that hopefully ken is now aware and can rectify before we go public. I am just trying to figure out Tabs vs. the checkboxes...I figure i ammissing something. the checkboxes seem fine.

You just have to know how to use the filters: First, click the And button on Selection, then... For HD DVDs and HD DVD Combos: Check HD DVD, Leave the other two gray For HD DVDs only: Check HD DVD, uncheck DVD, leave Blu-ray gray For HD DVD Combos only: Check HD DVD and DVD, leave Blu-ray gray For Blu-ray only: Check Blu-ray, leave the others gray For all HD: First click the Or button on Selection, then check HD DVD and Blu-ray, leave DVD gray. But that's a lot of hassle. I much prefer using boxsets-in-boxsets to gather all my HD material under a single profile as I mentioned earlier. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | Since I had to dig up this old screenshot for another post elsewhere, I thought I'd put it here as well. This is how I sort my TV sets, but I do the same for my HD discs. A parent called HD, with two child profiles, HD DVD and Blu-ray. Then I add my HD movies to the appropriate profile. So it looks similar to this: | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

...bunch stuff... Ah-ha! I never noticed that "And" and "Or" selection toggle down there at the bottom. Setting it to "Or" got it to work as expected and I was able to filter the list to only hi-def movies (including combos) with just a couple clicks. Thanks. | | | "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" - Douglas Bader "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams | | | Last edited: by Vega |
