| Posted: | | | | Somebody mentioned to me that some of the other similar programs have a feature where they can add DVDs by scanning he bar code via a webcam, is this a possibility?
(apologies if this has been asked before - I don't look in here normally) |

| Posted: | | | | I don't think that feature has been implemented into Profiler. And it has been mentioned before, but no reason not to ask again. At the minute Profiler can only accept the input of any barcode scanner that outputs the number in text format. I personally have a cuecat that does this. It's certainly an interesting idea. If Invelos don't want to integrate it into Profiler, maybe one of the plugin guys could see it as a challenge. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

(apologies if this has been asked before - I don't look in here normally) The cuecat that northbloke mentions is still available (I think) from LibraryThing at nominal cost. That's where I got mine. Works nicely! | | | -R. Windows 7 (Home Premium) SP1; 64-bit DVD Profiler 3.8.1 |

| Posted: | | | | Looks like more info is available since this was explored back here. I also tried the webcam scheme then - even downloaded the code and explored making a plugin. But the results were so unreliable (I didn't know why - so I enjoyed reading that post with the technical details ), albeit fun when it did work. But it hardly seemed worth the effort, especially when you can get a Cuecat for $8 - $15. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here.
