| Posted: | | | | In the audio section there isn't a hierarchy within Profiler to set witch audio format comes first then second, etc. I bring this up when running reports. If there are two formats say stereo and 5.1. If stereo is entered first in many reports the stereo format is used in the report, even though most users would want to know there is a high 5.1 format audio track on that disc and on that report. Reports I use mostly are 4 to a page (4 up) CTB's.
Just a though as to setting a table up in Profiler that sets those formats in a predefined hierarchy as to the way they get placed in the audio section no matter what order the audio formats are enter. (I'm sure this is as clear as mud.) |

Yes there is. It is right in the Rules Audio Formats Select the appropriate content type and format type for each track.
* List each Commentary track as a separate entry. * List audio tracks in the order in which they are encoded on the disc, determined via your DVD player or DVD-ROM drive.
Use the Audio specified on the DVD Cover unless you can verify there is a discrepancy between that and the actual Audio included on the disc. When contributing accurate, DVD based Audio, include your verification method in your Contribution Notes. Notice that it says the disc NOT the cover. And each disc stands on its own.

In most cases people would want to see the "highest quality" mix listed first in reports, but how would the program handle cases where there are different mixes for different languages. If there is a disc that has a stereo english track vs. a DTS japanese track for example? Does DTS win? Or stereo because that's the native language? I don't think there's a right answer there, it would be down to the user preferences. Configuration options could be added to handle it, but I am not sure how much value would be brought in. But then, I don't use reports with audio format on it. |

| Posted: | | | | Snark: Your comment is right. I got to thinking more about this a few weeks after I wrote. The languages really through a slammer in it.
I think skipnet50 is right. The onis is back on me to enter them in a correct order.
Takes more time but it works. |
