I will make it short.

Radio Shack used to have one called a CAT or Catz. (Years ago)

How about a USB BAR CODE READER?

Think on that. THAT may make sales of this Perfect Software hit the ROOF, right?

While I am enjoying entering my Massive Collection, I, so far - Have done most of my Blu-rays, and SOME regular DVD's...I am in the B's of my Collection...

Just A's and B's so far, and almost 300 DVD's so far.

A Bar Code Reader made for this Software would do collections in minutes, rather than days or weeks.

Thanks for any considerations...

I think you're talking about the CueCat, which I think you can still get from eBay.

But yeah, it's a good idea - I bet there's loads of people on here who'd love to have an Invelos branded barcode reader.

Northbloke - You are correct. I had one, but it never really had any use at the time.
Then it simply seemed to disappear. Invelos could really get on the map with one of these.
My Collection is going in slow because of the time I give my kids, no complaining here - They are the light of my life. My Son has had most of his surguries and most cannot even tell he was born with half a face. Boston Children's Hospital is Amazing for these things.

But I go off-track, Sorry. With a Bar Code reader I could literally input my whole collection in a mater of hours. I really do have well OVER 5,000 DVD's, especially if you include Collections, Box Sets, etc...

I am attempting to input some every day. And my Collection IS viewable for any interested in checking out my work in progress...

Again, I am Sorry. They DO have a Bar Code Reader?

Where can I buy one, I don't see Invelos' Reader anywhere on their site?

Invelos don't make their own. Skip was only saying that the program supported the use of them.

they are pointing out that the program has supported bar code readers for years.

Just get a cheap cuecat from ebay? What's the problem with that? if you must have one with invelos on it - paint on it the name Invelos. Job done.

What the people are trying to say is that you can use any kind of barcode reader that transfers the scanned code like a keyboard to the computers. Many american users seem to use CueCat.

I've bought me an OVOX barcode scanner for 15€ at ebay.

CueCats are a hit and miss. Some work, some don't and none work well all the time (yes, I have one). Radio Shack sells a reasonably priced bar code scanner that is compatible with any computer and is reliable. Don't waste your time or money on the cuecat when, for a couple of dollars more, you can have one that works and you don't have to pay shipping or wait for it in the mail.

If you want a really nice one, there are plenty on the net for less than $50 US.

Yes, but they were dirt-cheap only because Radio Shack planned to use them as a markting tool.

Well, if you buy a USB-Barcodereader that works as a keyboard, you can already use it with DVD Profiler.

I found one in a shop going out off business. a Symbol LS 2208 and got it for 200DKR (apx. $35). So find one less fortunate than yourself and profit from that. In these financial crises one should be easy to spot

Listen, another misunderstanding.

I didn't know that Invelos was compatible with any reader.

I JUST got the software the other day - Nuff Said?

Now I am going to EBay to get one.

Don't worry about it, barcode readers haven't been mentioned in the forums for a while, so it wouldn't have been staring you in the face if you've only just started coming here.

And I still think Ken should maybe think about bringing out a branded Invelos barcode reader!
