| Posted: | | | | In the Beta release forum I saw a post where Goodguy thanked Ken for enhancing the studio filters (and not mentioning it in the notes). I hoped that the enhancement would address one of my concerns, but it didn't.
When we want to filter on Cast or Crew, we get an entry field where we can enter the name we're searching, and and will be taken to the closest matching name in the list. But there is no similar function for Studios. To find the studio we want to select, we have to use the scroll bar. We can type the first letter of the studioname and be taken to that part of the list, but if we try to enter the name there's no buffer -- so if we type a second letter we are then taken to THAT part of the list.
For example, if I want to find "Twentieth Century Fox"
typing "T" takes me to the first "T" entry, but then I have to use the elevator bar to scroll down to where Twentieth Century Fox is before I can select it. I can't type the name, because if I type "TW" the first keystroke takes me to the Ts, but the second keystroke takes me to the Ws. I know there are fewer entries in the studio database than in the cast or crew databases, but it is still inconvenient to find the studio you want to select.
It would also be useful to include a "full substring filter" for studios -- so we could locate "Criterion Collection" without having to remember that it is "THE Criterion Collection" and is listed among the "T" titles not the "C" ones. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? | Posted: | | | | Thanks for the reminder, Ken. I remembered doing that before, but I guess I wasn't fast enough when I tried it tonight 'cause it didn't seem to work. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges.
