| Posted: | | | | I just received a new dvd set. Adding the discs and using the descriptions on the case meant I had to truncate them. The 3 discs are labelled as :-
1. The Opening Ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games (Part 1) 2. The Opening Ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games (Part 2) 3. The Closing Ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
The current field stops me typing past the 'G' in Games in the 1st 2 and the 'm' in Games for the last. | | | Home of the phpDVDProfiler forums |

From the rules: " Use the default descriptions wherever possible; do not change "Main Feature" to the film’s title." And also: " If a film spans 2 discs, add (Part 1) and (Part 2) to the “Main Feature” description." As such, I'd list these as " Main Feature (Part 1)" and so on. Having said that - the length of almost EVERY other field in DVD Profiler desperately needs expanding! I'm especially frequently having problems with episode dividers for TV sets: there are soooo many episode titles longer than what we have room for... | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Patsa: Quote: There is no need to reiterate the full title in the disc descriptions. Agreed. As the discs uniquely refer to the title, there's no need for full descriptions. For most titles I leave as the default title. If it's for a TV series I adjust to the episode numbers on that disc. For discs that have widescreen on one side & full screen on the other then I label them like that. For the example ajm gives, I would probably use something like 1) Opening Ceremony Part 1 2) Opening Ceremony Part 2 3) Closing Ceremony Edit: Or label them as T!M says, for some reason his post wasn't showing when I was typing mine *shrug* | | | Last edited: by Ardos |

| Posted: | | | | I would just label each disc as Main Feature (Part n), n being 1-3 as appropriate. Much simpler. |

This was definitely on my wish list for 3.5 too, together with the first name field for actors (to use for names of e.g. an orchestra). | | | Hans |
