| Posted: | | | | Hi,
I know it has been asked before, but I'd like to bring it up again. It would be great if one could decide what to contribute even if it is a first contribution. I use cast lists that strongly violate Invelos's rules. But it's cumbersome to remove this list, contribute and then add it again just to avoid contribution. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | While I would personally never use this I can see that it would be a good feature for people who would still like to contribute their work without breaking the rules.
Good idea DJ |

| Posted: | | | | I agree, I tried contributing a profile (thinking I would be able to choose only some changes) and the whole lot went in as a contribution since it was a new profile. I immediately tried to withdraw it since I know some of it was wrong (and thought it had been) until I later got it rejected anyway. But having the ability to only contribute part of the data would help those who wanted minimal data for profiles before release date | | | Paul |

I would like to see partial initial contributions as well. Hopefully we will get it before too long. As for your problem with the cast lists... at least till we get partial initial contributions... a somewhat simple solution... but sometimes the simple solutions don't always occur to you (if you are anything like me!) Have you tried saving the cast list as the last thing you add to the profile... and just contribute before you do the cast? | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I agree that new contributions should go up for voting as well.
The only problem I can see is that all other contributions you see are based on your online collection. Since these wont be, you'd get all entries from all regions. The way I can think of to help with this would be to have an extra tab on the contributions list. Where we currently have -
Unvoted Pending Updates All Pending Updates My Contributions
I would suggest adding something like "New entry contribution". Clicking on that would give you a list of regions to select from. Then it would give you the usual lists sorted alphabetically. That way people would only see entries from regions that concern them. |

| Posted: | | | | Yes, I'd very much like to be able to pick which sections to contribute for new profiles.
And like Forget, yes I'd like to see (somehow) voting on new submissions too. Maybe in your user profile there can be a checklist of all the localities you're willing to vote on new submissions - or do you think it better we can only vote on our own? This can default to off for those who aren't interested. I wouldn't mind waiting 3 days for new entries to be added if this could be implemented. |

| Posted: | | | | I don't think there's any way they could stop people voting for other localities other than IP filtering. The country field on profiles is optional so that wouldn't work & can easily be changed anyway.
I don't see a problem with allowing voting on other localities as it's allowed for all in your collection anyway. |

That way you only have to enter the list once -- after you've contributed a profile that conforms to the rules. It's not that simple. It's usually happening with TV show child profiles. As currently discussed in the technical support forum the program downloads the child profiles rather randomly. It happened even before the auto-download. When I add by DiscId the program often offers me a profile from a nordic country or a spanish one. Then I set the locality right. But I can't be sure if that locality already has a profile and I can't contribute on a hunch because the website doesn't allow me to stop before it's to late. Of course I can still withdraw. So basically, yes it's doable. But it would be much easier if the checkbox website would simply pop up as usual. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | I would be very much in favour of having the option of partial initial contributions.
Having people vote on them is a different animal altogether. The voting procedure would take some days, whereas it's in the best interest of Invelos as well as DVDP users to have new releases available as soon as possible, if only to prevent double work by several users. So I would not support this bit. |

I build each profile when the movie is released in theaters, and add it to my wishlist. For example, I have Australia, Quantum of Solace, Body of Lies... that are complete in my local... and will contribute them only when the dvd will be released, in several monthes... In the past three monthes, I decided to contribute the profiles of my collection that were not in the database (about 30). I had to rebuilt overviews and cast lists from scratch, contribute the profiles, than restore the good ones in my local from a backup file. | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | If you have a cast list already in Profiler, of course it won't work the way I described it. My initial assumption was that Enry was starting with a blank slate and hadn't established the cast list yet. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. When adding by DiscId, DVDP doesn't really give me a choice which profile I want to add. Either it finds none at all or it finds it on a random locality. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Once again I can't contribute TV season box child profiles.
I only noticed just now that they aren't in the online database. But I am not willing to remove my "localized" cast and crew, contribute and then re-add that stuff just to don't break the rules.
I can't even check/see what I'm contributing. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
