| Posted: | | | | Something like xbox360 does, like if you have a whole trilogy then you get so many points and so many complete sets of movie stars features is worth so many points.
Maybe have like a set point scale where say all of the star wars movies are worth a total of 60 points and special editions are worth 75, for instance. Making it a little more competitive and fun for the collector.
Have like a leaders board section on this site. That is updated daily with all concurrent rankings.
I'm new to the program/forum and its a excellent one, this is just an idea. I personally like competing where there is no real competition just for the sport of it I guess.

| Posted: | | | | you said ?huh?, like you don't understand what I was trying to explain up above. Then you dismissed it, that's not much help. Do you not understand or just go around dismissing what other people write?
Probably the latter, does anyone else understand what I was implying up above.
About a point system that would make collecting a little more competitive. | | | "I imagine that I have a body and that my knowledge comes from my senses. | Posted: | | | | Al: If you believe it needs to be a competition of some sort, then try catching up with those of us that have thousands of titles. I think the largest i know about is around 10 or 11,000...both of us have a long way to go. I dismissed the idea of competittion, l, it seems rather ummmm well, childish. I don't compete with anyone, I collect movies for my own reasons and entertainment. I have enoguh to do editing and coorrecting titles, without playing schoolyard games. At first I was thinking I didn't explain my thought, clearly enough.
Somebody else would think this is fun, not you though. | | | "I imagine that I have a body and that my knowledge comes from my senses. Using several senses together I can determine what is true. | Posted: | | | | I just wanted to clear up it wouldn't be for the person, that just buys dvd's for the sake of buying Dvds, but for people that sort out certain Actors;Director;Series;Trilogies...etc. Here is a link to how Collectors Society does it below: CGC Collectors-society.comHere is a link to their coins side of the site: The Coins RegistrySome type of rank and point system like above, someone could have 1 Billion Dvds and it wouldn't matter because the point system would be based on consistency and adapting to there own tastes. Say if you had 34 of the 39 Jean-Claude Van Damme movies and you needed just 5 more to complete the collection of all his movies. At that moment you would have say....935 points and when you got the remaining 5 films you would get 1000 points. Maybe, it could be verified through some type search engine of IMBD.com, the main program can already contact -- download to or update from the internet. So, it shouldn't be that difficult. | | | "I imagine that I have a body and that my knowledge comes from my senses. Using several senses together I can determine what is true. | Posted: | | | | I agree with skip on this one. Your suggestion doesn't fit in with what DVDP is about which is solely a database for your collection of DVDs, Blu-ray & HDDVD.
I honestly can't see why this should be added. |

If you want to be competitive, why don't you try to get the rep for contributing the most perfect and complete dvd profiles, those that follow the rules to the nth. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. I don't like the rep system because it is all based off other users giving it to you. If it came from Invelos for things like accepted contributions or number of accepted changes to profiles as well then maybe it would have more meaning to me. | | | Schultzy - http://www.michaelschultz.net grenactics - The art of skillfully fraggin one’s opponent with the use of grenades or other compact explosive devices that are thrown by hand or projected. | | | Last edited: by schultzy |
