| Posted: | | | | This is a request to be able to flag a group of movies and then re-assign them to a block of numbers of your choosing.
For example, I would flag 100 different movies and then under the "Collection" tab using the "Reassign Collection Numbers" would now feature a box that you could use to show which starting number you would like them to be assigned to/or start at (ie. 4000) etc.
In addition, in the "Tools" tab using the "options" you could opt by checking a box that when you are adding a movie it would prompt you for the start number of the first available slot to assign a Collection number too.
My reasoning for this came as a need for having all my films on "one" database but be able to set different numbering groups for movies stored in differnet locations (ie. Family Room, Bedroom, Childrens room, vacation cabin etc. In this way you would always see all movies in searching by Title but know which area they are located. Just being able to move to a certain group of numbers must have some other benefits as well for your storage scheme.
Please respond as to your feelings as I am curious if this could be helpful for others as well.

| Posted: | | | | I would like to see this option as well.
Due to storage constraints I have had to move all my movies out of the keep cases and into binders.
I currently have 10 - 96 count binders and am in the process of trying to # and organize them.
This option would allow me to assign a block of #'s that would allow room for additions.
For instance I could block off 1-200 for horror - 201-400 for comedy and so on - then as I get more horror movies I would still have available collection #'s in the block I could assign. |

| Posted: | | | | I made the plugin BulkEdit to satisfy this kind of requirement: when the main program doesn't allow it, or when it might be convenient to change a lot of things at once, such as a list of collection numbers. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | You should also look at the location and slot fields available under "Personalise", if you wanted to you could actually type in "family room", "bedroom" etc into the location field rather than trying to remember a number system. I believe mediadogg's plugin will also allow you to fill in that field en masse, though I'm not 100% sure on that. |
