(For anyone who doesn't know, I mean the number usually seen on the spine of a DVD release.)
I would appreciate this feature.
For instance, I have a series of Jackie Chan's early films which have catalogue numbers of JCD0001, JCD0002, JCD0003 etc.
It would be handy to be able to put these in order when doing a search through my personal database.

You could e.g. put them in the Notes, but that would make it hard to use them for anything except filtering for "JCD" or something. A better alternative might be the Location. Highlight the profile, press Ctrl&p for the 'Personalize DVD' Window and put the catalogue number in the Location which holds alphanumerics. This could easily fall into the same category. I don't think I'd have any use for catalogue numbers--though I have no particular opposition to them--but I like spine numbers. I input them locally (!) as part of the Edition. E.g. "The Criterion Collection 140" or "The Miriam Collection 1". |
