| Posted: | | | | Can we have a way of inputting the catalogue numbers for DVDs? (For anyone who doesn't know, I mean the number usually seen on the spine of a DVD release.)
I would appreciate this feature.
For instance, I have a series of Jackie Chan's early films which have catalogue numbers of JCD0001, JCD0002, JCD0003 etc. It would be handy to be able to put these in order when doing a search through my personal database.
Thanks, Neil |

You could e.g. put them in the Notes, but that would make it hard to use them for anything except filtering for "JCD" or something. A better alternative might be the Location. Highlight the profile, press Ctrl&p for the 'Personalize DVD' Window and put the catalogue number in the Location which holds alphanumerics. Then you can sort your Collection based on Location and Slot (Right-Click somewhere in the collection list and go to 'Sort by'Granted, it works only if you don't already use this field for other purposes. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

| Posted: | | | | Good question that one. Wouldn't catalogue number be a valuable piece of data to collect because it is used on so many websites? I would have thought that it might improve the potential for plugins. | | | This is a sig... ... ... yay...
Don't understand? Maybe DVDProfilerWiki.org does! |

| Posted: | | | | I suggested something similar about a year ago, about a spine slot for those titles that are universally numbered, like Criterion, Fox Studio Classics/Film Noir, Dragon Dynasty, Masters of Cinema, etc.. This could easily fall into the same category. |

I input them locally (!) as part of the Edition. E.g. "The Criterion Collection 140" or "The Miriam Collection 1". |
