for the collection list (profiler calls it "View as List") which is about the only one I use, so I'll leave the floor open as to how this "Scan DVD-ROM Drive" functionality works for the other list types.
Also, this small change (request) is only for when a scan finds a profile in the list and that that profile has at least 1 child or a grandchild a.s.o., of the type Disc (a disc id in the UPC field).
Oh, and I have "Auto-expand box sets" off... which I like
So... the request...
As it is now scanning the DVD-ROM will find and mark the first profile that has disc data in its disc field regardless if that profile has disc id children attached. I would like it to mark the correct disc id child profile instead. That's it!

I agree... I would rather see it go to the child profile as well. I fix this by removing the disc IDs from the parent profile when it is in one of the child profiles. But I personally think it should automatically go to the child profile

I think I've done this also on some of my parent profiles, but I don't like it because those keep poping up in an update.

That's strange because when you change the disc ID, even if it's just to remove it, the field is automatically locked.

Yes, I know! Infact, I have locked down my intire collections disc id field and I'm slowly working my way back to having all the disc id's in my EAN based profiles. If such a profile is poping up in an update, the disc id will not register as different, locked or no. It also makes the profile more correct and less time can be spent on it then having to remove disc id's, just so the "Scan DVD-ROM Drive" can mark the correct profile.

I have a tag for my bonus discs which is represented by a disc id profile, each. If I filter by this tag the "Collection List (List View)" shows all my bonus disc profiles. Fine so far! If I then put in a bonus disc I know I have as a disc id profile and then "Scan DVD-ROM Drive", nothing happens. This is probably because I have the disc represented in the EAN profile aswell.

Addendum to the request: I want "Scan DVD-ROM Drive" to search filtered profiles and mark that which are found. Skipping all other profiles.

Wierd, I was just about to request an addition to the Scan DVD-ROM functionality when I found this post

In my collection I now have my Season sets with disc ids and disc profiles attached to them in turn.
Pressing the Scan button will find the Season set. But it won't get me to the disc profile under it.

Could we get the Scan button to navigate to the utter most profile (disc profile) if it is pressed a second time?
