| Posted: | | | | I'm in the process of auditing all my TV shows and also movies as I watch/re-watch them. I've also just started buying Blu-ray discs. One of the most annoying things I've found with BD is the lack of detailed descriptions regarding the features present. I recently saw one that simply said: Featurettes. While technically accurate it didn't really tell me anything. There were actually 17 featurettes (the same as the DVD release). Because the extras are a deciding factor for me when replacing DVD with BD I would like to know more. One way to know more is for this to be incorporated into Profiler. Therefore, I would like the Feature section expanded so that more detailed specifications can be added: either by a permanently visible free-form box or by a 'pop-up' window that is also freeform in style but completed then hidden. I realised I could use tags, or Notes or an additional html window...and that's all well and good; but to have it incorporated into the next release of Profiler would be better IMO...hence a feature request. I realise Ace touched on this in his request....but, seeing as I don't agree with everything he suggested I decided to start a new thread - especially as this is something I've been thinking about for a few weeks. |

| Posted: | | | | What exactly would you want to be entered in this field? Just the number of featurettes, names of them, descriptions, etc...?
I've got nothing against the suggestion but would just like a bit more info about it. |

| Posted: | | | | I suggested this a long time ago. The solution I would implement would work as follows. We would retain the generic listings as there may be users who simply would like that. We would also have the option to input more specific data per Menus, no creating of own data, So we might have, for example
Under Featurettes: Keith & The Captain: On Set with Johnny Depp The Tale of Many Jacks Masters of design-Creating The Pirate's World The World of Chow Yun-Fat Inside The Bretren Court etc
Deleted Scenes With Optional Commentary By Director Gore Verbinski
Outtakes Bloopers Of The Caribbean

| Posted: | | | | That is basically how I would like it as well Skip. But I would even want to take it a step further... and have the lengths of the featurettes and Blooper Reel (anything that has an ongoing running time).
Under Featurettes: Keith & The Captain: On Set with Johnny Depp (0:07) The Tale of Many Jacks (0:15) Masters of design-Creating The Pirate's World (0:19) The World of Chow Yun-Fat (0:06) Inside The Bretren Court (0:04)
... for example | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | You aren't the first one to think I am a sick man! but hey... I like knowing how long the stuff is. It would be helpful if I am limited on time (can't watch a movie) so I can look and see if I can fit in the extras (or how much of the extras) on a disc. | | | Pete | | | Last edited: by Addicted2DVD |

| Posted: | | | | I like Pete's version of Skip's list...I guess that means I agree with Pantheon as well. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Sorry for not being more specific...luckily Skip got there first. He's stated exactly what I would want: the ability to write in exactly what the features are. I'm not so fussed on putting runtimes and would probably not bother personally - but I can see how some people would like that.
I've just had enough of BDs that state 'and much more' in the features section. I want to know what the 'much more' is and our community would be one way of getting that information (assuming adding this information was popular with contributors!!) |

In my opinion, if this feature is implemented it has to be with running times, since Making of... (Where director and actors complement each others for 3min) is completely different thing than Making of... ( 120min diary type documentary with a lot of behind the scenes material) Both are featurettes and can be named "Making of..." |

| Posted: | | | | I currently use a HTML window to keep track of the full special features, but have wanted a true field that could be submitted since the program's inception. The more detail, the better. A listing of audio commentary participants, the names and running times of featurettes, etc. |

| Posted: | | | | For Pantheon:
This, along with several other areas ofthe program, is something I have been playing with for a very long time now. So my thoughts on it are fairly well crystalized, and hads modified some from my original conceptualization. Another area that I wonder about, is not of interest to me, but are there users who want Chapter details. These days such details would have to come from the menus, since Hollywood killed off the one-sheets with the Chapter lists a long time ago for the most part, I don't know though, like I said i have no interest in it personally I don't think...too much typing.
