I suddendly realized I posted this in the wrong thread.  Whoops

DVD Profiler Mobile seems to be specific to PDA-type devices.  I already have a web-enabled cell phone so don't want to carry a PDA.  Is there an existing, or is there any plan to create a mobile phone friendly version of the on-line collection.  I tried bringing it up the standard one on my phone and it seemed to be unviewable...perhaps the frames.  My collection is viewable here,

So I copied the collection list from the left frame and ran a rather convoluted macro over it in crimson editor to create a cell phone friendly list.  Unfortunately, this list is not clickable and quite long to scroll through.  It would be nice if I could click through to view a cover scan and DVD details.

Until something becomes available (Or someone tells how to do it otherwise), and as time permits, perhaps I'll build something more verbose than this, to group the titles by first letter, but it would still only be titles with no click-through.  Would save scrolling time though.  More and more I'm forgetting what I have, and rebuying titles, so I need something portable...but not a PDA.

Cheers,
Rob

Update: I have built a small program that transforms the data as previously mentioned.  It's kind of fussy, but it separates the list in to 28 separate web pages (A..Z, Numbers, everything else), which I can add separate bookmarks to my phone so I only incur one web page hit.  Very basic text pages so as to be fast and use little bandwidth.  Still no click through, which woul be nice, but I'm really not that ambitious  .  At least I'll know what I have when I'm out.

This seemes to be a very similar request to one previously posted in this thread.

Perhaps I'll look at the DVDProfilerLoop application.  Still...looking at the basic output it looks like it would be pure pain to scroll through a large collection, but I might be able to use the XML file output in my application to make it more verbose.

Whenever I see this request I always wonder why one couldn't simply look at your collection on the Invelos site? Do web-enabled phones have browser limitations that would prevent that? (Of course I know that Smartphones will do it. I use mine for that, but of course the Mobile app is much nicer).

Also, while I haven't looked at it in detail, the iPod Exporter produces HTML which might run on other browsers - not sure about that.
Thanks for your support.

you can view the site, but it's not mobile friendly on many phones, at least not with the browser in my BB

mediadogg, let me clarify my situation.  I realize I've perhaps been a bit vague.  My intent was to view the existing page.  I only have a basic phone with simple browsing capabilities.  (Motorola V750)  I needed the physical durability more than creature features.  When I try loading the the collection page, the screen comes up blank.  It loads the "DVD Profiler, by Invelos Software, Inc." page title, but nothing else.  I'm not sure if it's the .NET, Javascript, C# or frames it can't handle.  i.e.

<meta content="Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 7.1" name="GENERATOR">
<meta content="C#" name="CODE_LANGUAGE">
<meta content="JavaScript" name="vs_defaultClientScript">

In any case, it's not that it's painful to browse, as in the BB mobiles, that I would tollerate for how often I need it, it's that it doesn't load at all.

My newest script generates this http://rpjj.ca/movies/ at the moment. (Not including the "movies.htm", though I'm thinking it should.)

Cheers,
Rob

This is almost ready to go, please message me if anyone is interested in testing/trying it out.  You will need Java installed on you machine in order to run this.  I built it on Java 1.6 and have not (And won't) tested it on older versions.  I need to do a bit more testing and throw some instructions together.

Cheers,
Rob
