| Posted: | | | | I suspect the subject of this thread may be confusing, so allow me to elaborate: We can rate a DVD in four categories: movie, video, audio, extras When we sort our collection listing by review, it only takes the total review score into account and won't let us sort by only one of the above named categories. While that is definitely a feature that should remain, I would like to be able to sort by any of the four categories. Why? Because I may be interested in finding DVDs I've rated very highly in the video or audio department, regardless of how good the movie is. For example, if I'm going to demo my home theater. Or, I may want to find movies I think are really good, without giving much of a hoot about the audio or video quality. In a way I'm surprised that this isn't already available, so if there's something I'm overlooking please clue me in. KM | | | Tags, tags, bo bags, banana fana fo fags, mi my mo mags, TAGS! | Posted: | | | | Wow. I'm surprised at the poll results so far. This makes me curious about those who voted no. Are you just not using the detailed ratings, or do you have no interest in sorting your collection by rating? Just curious. KM | | | Tags, tags, bo bags, banana fana fo fags, mi my mo mags, TAGS! KM I didn't vote but I don't use the ratings feature at all. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

KM Personally I use the detailed rating... but I have no interest in sorting my collection by how I rate a movie. For me I sort only alphabetically. Then I renumber my collection list so that it is always 1 to 1788 ( currently). That being said... I am not against the request itself mind you... just something I wouldn't use. | | | Pete |

KM I only use simple ratings and never sort by them, so I am of course not against this option (doesn't hurt) but think we have things that are more important for Ken to do. | | | |

| Posted: | | | | Like the other replies, it's just not something I would use. I only rate the movie anyway. I suppose that reflects my red/yellow/white cable that gives Dr. Killpatient a brain freeze. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

| Posted: | | | | I don't use it at all (and I'm a DVD reviewer). But by all means, it sounds like a good idea for those who do use it. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

KM I agree with you. At least I want to be able sort on movie-reviews. (blue stars) To sort on the total (as now) makes no sense to me. |

I used it for the first time last week - I usually rate a film after I've watched it and I wanted to check for any that I'd watched (and not rated) and also that I was being consistent in how I was rating. So I tried sorting by the rating - which is when I then found that they weren't being rated by just the film rating (but also including a dvd rating which I'd entered on some dvds a few years ago.) | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | The funny thing is: On the IOS version and in the "credit info window" on the desktop version , it already sorts on the blue stars (movie) first. So I can't see any reason why we can't have this option in the "collection list" also.
I'm very surprised too, that this isn't already available. |
