| Posted: | | | | Hi everyone,
Unless I missed this feature and couldnt find it in help or in the forums....
My country "Australia" constantly issues new UPCs for the same titles. Case in point, recently 12 Rounds: Extreme Cut was released as 9321337 112961 which was not recognised. I found the exact same Bluray disc but with a different UPC!
So I added this title to my wish list, and copied all cast and pasted all cast, the same for crew, then front cover, then back cover, the overview, and then manually wrote down the other information and punched it in. Then I removed the wishlist entry and contributed the new title. It was labourious to say the least taking between 5-10 minutes.
As I have 67 other UPCs like this and I believe it would be a great feature to be able to copy all disc information in a two click approach. I do not understand the complications of the supporting code but I would like to make this suggestion;
When a new UPC is entered which is not on file a dialog box could appear asking "Do you wish to copy the disc information from another entry?" - yes or no. - If the user selects no then the entry process proceeds as it now does. - If they enter yes then the "add title by name" screen appears allowing the user search for a title by name and disc type, with preview etc. The software then flags the new UPC with this source UPC and will load it in when "Add to Collection" button is selected. - Then the software returns to the "Add by UPC" entry screen for the next entry.
Additionally in the edit disc information dialog screen; - A "copy title" button and a "paste title" button could be added. - When pasting to a new empty UPC all information just goes straight in. - When pasting to an existing title the following decisions could be made, * Title locked, paste forbidden, * "Replace All button", "Fill only empty fields" button, or "Cancel"
I think this functionality would also assist in keeping the database current.

Highlight the DVD you are copying from, then DVD -> Copy Highlight the DVD you are copying to, then DVD -> Paste
You will be given a list of items you can copy over or you can copy 'all'. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Well I humbly thank TheMadMartian and Mithri for kindly pointing out this feature. May I 'edit' my request to putting a "Copy Profile" and "Paste Profile" on the right-click menu?? Cheers. |

Drag and drop the menu options into place for Copy and Paste (you'll be dragging over the 'ExpressBars SubMenu Editor' at left). Close, and your changes will save into the current layout. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |
