| Posted: | | | | It would be nice if the Box Set did not apear in the DVD list as an option or when not numbered (collection number empty ). I don't give a number to the box set , which on online collection is a mess when reodering by number by the way , because I count dvds not boxes of dvds . Therefore I would like not to have the box set in the list but rather a attribute that link dvd together: Why not do it clickable in both the sotware and the online collection to got to other dvd of same box set for example? Why not a Screen to list on box set only? Why not a different list for numbering Box Sets? Why not automatically set some attributes to the Box Set as heritage from the Box settend DVDs (cast, crew, ...) ... whatever needed to see a summary of what it includes ...? and the kitchen sink ... Of course make it an option for people who whant Box sets in the list . |

| Posted: | | | | Something like "Hide parent profile if collection# is empty"? Great idea! Not sure if I would use it, but it is a great idea. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

"Show profiles with collection numbers only" | | | - Jan |

| Posted: | | | | Only if optional, since I number my boxset profiles, and not the children. If this option would be mandatory, this would hide all my child profiles | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

The simplier is one movie=one profile. In my collection, I've not entered any box set and feel very happy like that. I never saw any interest to group movies together, especially when they have nothing in common. And even for movies sold in boxsets like Star Wars, Indiana Jones or The Godfather, I just group them with sort title. | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | In my collection the parent profiles of movie box sets live their miserable life in my ordered tab. For everyday purposes I only use the child profiles, one per film. |

Except that collection numbers can be resequenced, something that tags (and slot numbers) cannot. I too would like this feature, as I spent the better part of the first day trying to figure out how to deal with the box set entries. Like someone else here, I even tried (after a backup) deleting the box set "containers" to see how that looked, but I restored the backup because I DO want the box set association, just not in most lists. Eg, when I sort by DVD title, I don't want the sort to include the box set title as part of the sort (which is what happens presently). However, what I would really like ("feature creep") is the ability to place DVDs and box sets in folders, and those in more folders, etc, like the file folder organization on most computer operating systems. except that (unlike MS Windows but like Linux/BSD) it would be nice to put the same DVD/box set in multiple folders. Tags are insufficient because they are a linear way of handling what is inherently a hierarchical structure. |
