| Posted: | | | | Any chance the rules can get a more prominent placing rather than under database>tools?
Ideally, IMO, it should be one of the main selections on the top banner as it is essentially one of (if not the) most important things for people to be able to find easily. |

| Posted: | | | | Do I now fourth or fifth this?? ... Doesn't matter ... Agreed with OP! This gives me a nice idea for a nag-screen: Pop-up of the contribution rules every time the "Contribute Profile ..."-button is clicked (Not meant seriously!!) | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | I will sixth this...maybe fifth depending on which way the goblin goes. Great idea. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. While that was meant as a joke, perhaps a slight variation of adding a tickbox stating something like - "I confirm that I have read the Contribution Rules." |

"I confirm that I have read the Contribution Rules." I really loved this little test you had to pass before your first contribution. It wasn't all bad in the old Intervocative days. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | I'm not sure it is difficult to find contribution rules. To contribute, you need to use the program, and on the main menu of the program there are two links to contributions rules, one on the online menu >Invelos website, and one in the Help menu. Then, when you want to contribute, you get a window with a third link. But what I'm sure is that those rules are totally unreadable by users as mipmip who do not speak American English. And after reading 4000+ topics of the contribution forum with American guys writing "this rule says white" with answers "No, it says black", it seems that even people speaking American English are not really able to define correctly what is behind all words of those rules (just take crew roles as an example...). I have been asking for years for simplier rules, that could be understood without too much efforts by "normal" users, and translated in different languages. Ken choose to do the contrary, and he has his reasons. After his last update, I understood that he will never go in the direction that I think is necessary, but this is not a problem for me... Putting a link in enormous characters in the middle of the site main page will change nothing. | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

I take exception to some of your comments, typical since you weren't involved. The Rules team was quite literally a worldwide team of users and much of it was actually written by a Brit.

There's absolutely nothing stopping you from directly translating the rules for the benefit of French users just as there's nothing stopping some of our German, Italian, Dutch, etc... users from directly translating them into their respective languages. I wouldn't expect Ken to be able to translate them into all languages. Not many people speak every possible language! |

Indeed. the fact that he allows it, even provides a forum for it, is more that most small software companies do. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
