| Posted: | | | | Since this option is now available for Dolby Digital and DTS, could we please have the Dolby Surround option added to DTS HD and TrueHD as well, thanks. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Pardon my ignorance and I might be wrong, but is DD Surround even used with lossless codecs? So far, on the Blu-rays I own I have seen all kinds of Dolby True HD and DTS HD MA tracks, ranging from mono (1.0) to stereo (2.0), going over 4.0, 5.1, 6.1 up to 7.1, but I've never seen a DTS HD MA Stereo or Dolby True HD Stereo track. I have a lot of Blu-rays that have surround tracks, but they're all lossy. Do you perhaps have a concrete example? I'd be interested to have a look at it. If such tracks exist, I of course second your request! | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | I've seen a few. Most theatrical mixes from the mid seventies to the early nineties would have been Dolby surround. If you see a 2.0 mix, it's usually surround. While it's possible for the track to contain the surround data, I'm not sure if there are actual flags to denote this with the HD formats, though. |

There is no surround flag in PCM streams, and thus no verifiable information for us to enter even if it is surround, but it exists for both DTS HD and TrueHD streams. The TrueHD 2.0 track on Falling Down (US blu-ray version in digibook) is a 2.0 surround track, but this can only be entered as stereo, there is no other 2.0 option available in the program for this format. Hence my request. Dolby Surround is probably much more common than stereo for theatrically released films. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

Indeed so it seems, I was pretty sure this combination was possible but I must have remembered it wrong. Oddly enough it exists for PCM so there seems to be very little logic behind what you can do and can't do... | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

Ahh, that must be why. Older movies always show up as for example Dolby True HD 2.0 or PCM 2.0 ... probably because as you've stated there's no surround flag. Any suggestion then how we can accurately track such data? (to avoid misunderstandings: I'm asking because I'm relatively illiterate when it comes to such technical things, not because I'm against the request or anything) | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | This has probably been requested before, but a reminder can't hurt so I'll throw it in with my other request and bump this tread:
We need a 3.0 option for DTS HD MA (eg. Sanjuro & Yojimbo from Criterion.) | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks Koniki, I lost track of this thread. BDInfo Tool is indeed very useful and I've noticed it yields consistantly the same results as my receiver (especially differences between Surround & 2.0).
3.0 would indeed be needed. +1 for this request! | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |
