Don't know if it has been suggested or not, but what about a way to group a series of movies, even if they aren't part of a box set. Now these groupings wouldn't need to be shared.

Like for example the Die Hard series have titles that are closly similar, but what about for example the two Tom Hanks movies "The DaVinci Code" and "Angels and Demons". These would be in two completely different places. The same would go for the Martix Trilogy and Animatrix.

I'm also suggesting a way to order these after the order they were produced.

There are several options. If something is a sequel on another movie with a different name, I usually take the sort title of the original movie and add a "2" to the sequel.

"For a Few Dollars More" becomes "Fistful of Dollars 2" - in the sort title

You also can create tags to bind different movies together. For example, all my seasons of "Doctor Who", "Torchwood" and "The Sarah Jane Adventures" have a tag "Whoniverse". I also have a Buffyverse, a Xenaverse and so on.

Another way is to create an imaginary box set (locally only of course), as a manual profile.

Thank you, since I haven't used the program very long I actually forgot about the sorting ability.

I actually tried doing that, but couldn't find the option to do so without having a UPC. I added the sequels using the original ones as the imaginary box, but I then decided that looked awful.

Creating a profile without UPC works like this:
Go to menu "DVD - > Add new DVD to collection..."
In the now opening window click on the tab "By Title" and uncheck the "Download Profile from Invelos"-option in the lower left corner. Enter a title of your choice (e.g. "The Bourne Chronicles"). Click OK -> done.
The now created profile will have an ID starting with a "M" and cannot be contributed to the main database
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Very good suggestion, DJ Doena!

This is what I also do: change the sort title to the title of the first movie and add a 2, 3, 4 and so on. (e.g. Pirates of the Caribbean 1, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, etc)

I also do this for season box sets that have "the complete First Season" or "The complete Second Season" in the title, to have them in order of the seasons (e.g. LOST Season 1, LOST Season 2, LOST season 3, etc).

Creating box sets is also a valid way of course, but since I dislike creating fictional boxsets, I prefer to use the sort title. Just pick whatever works best for you.
