| Posted: | | | | I'm sure it would be great to have a small application or a small button where you can find out how many other people own the same DVD you have in your collection.
For example: I have Greenzone in my collection "256.128 other users own this Blu-Ray".
So, what do you think about it?

| Posted: | | | | This has been suggested before. As I recall, one of the problems with it was privacy concerns - it would require Invelos to keep track of who owns what. |

| Posted: | | | | The privacy concern is, in my opinion, much ado about nothing. Invelos already "tracks" who owns what for everyone whose collection is online. Having statistics would do nothing to compromise anyone's privacy.
I would be in favor of having statistics available. |

| Posted: | | | | The statistics could easily be based on the online collections - with private collections being excluded - so the privacy issue shouldn't really be a problem. Added to the fact that these statistics would be anonymous. I like the idea too. |

| Posted: | | | | I have to agree that any privacy concerns here are not an issue. Especially given the much greater loss of personal privacy we have these days with a lot more personal factoids out there on the web for anyone with who already knows a few facts about you.
I think it would be very interesting indeed to see this statistic. And as northbloke already mentioned, if it's only the online listing that counted for this, there's no privacy concern at all - perhaps only allowed where the user does allow a link on thier forum posts that points to their collection already anyway. |

| Posted: | | | | In my opinion there is much space to improve and extend the existing statistic options.
I think it is absolutely enough when this possibility uses only the online collection. |

| Posted: | | | | I would never object to that - I only mentioned privacy because it was brought up before (not by me, BTW). |

| Posted: | | | | Statistical comparisons are fun, but sadly lacking from DVD Profiler.
People may be concerned about about privacy, but wouldn't all Ken need to do is add an opt-in checkbox within the program which will include each user in the profile count or not? | | | Last edited: by Doombear |
