It's been a while since I've noticed this type of request.

I'd like to see it as well.

+1

I would love to have everything locked by default. And it would be also great to have an option to skip all updates from the online.

Simple: Uncheck the box "Download Profiles from Invelos" and never do updates.

I would like covers to automatically get locked if i change them. Same way as genres.

I use 1000x700 size on my local, so when i do the scans, i always have to remember to lock them so they dont get overwritten.

It can be interesting to have an update of the list of profiles that are online, specially if you want to find an existing profile which can be a good starting point for your new local profile. But you get a list of profiles updates that have not been done. I always spend time to delete this list title by title to have something clean in my database and avoid any accident. Once I got an accidental update, and without my backup, I would have lost hundreds hours of work.

Sorry, I didn't get what you do - at all. You download profiles of DVDs you don't have and then worry they might get updated?

You could use a seperate database for this if you're worried about additional birth years or so.

To explain my position : I recently bought the DVD for which the online profile, which had not been updated since 2007, was excellent. I had quite nothing to change since this profile had correct spelling for names, no dividers, no useless crew,  nice scans. So I took it as a base for my local profile. I imagine someone could enter sound crew, or add group dividers, or remove accents to follow rules that have changed since this online profile was contributed. I certainly do not want to see any of those changes in my local.

In general, all online profiles that have not been updated since Intervocative are an excellent base for me and can be used as a starting point. All recent changes (for CLT reasons or to add sound or art crew or group dividers) are generally bad for me.

There's an option to lock the whole DVD. Which can be also done for flagged profiles.
Not exactly what you asked for but with this existing feature it's not very hard to lock new profiles completely.

No, it is even very easy... except when you forget to do it. So a default setting would be great.

You can define a custom lock set as it were now. Not sure what you are referring to. The edit lock dialog allows you to lock everything or whatever individual components you would like to lock.
ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!

The feature request is regarding a Lock Set that is stored in the options of the program

For example you can enable/disable the SRP lock for every new profile under Tools->Options->Default.

It would be cool to have that for every available lock (including "Entire DVD").

For example, each of my profiles has the following locks: title, release date, SRP, studios, genres, disc information, box set contents, crew & cast.
