I think what Charlie has in mind (correct me if I'm wrong), is those few cases where Disney issues the same bundle but with two different cases: - BD case where the DVD is the 'bonus disc' so to speak - DVD case where the BD is the 'bonus disc' so to speak I think this is a good example: BD Version: DVD Version: Personally; I'm more in favor of always keeping the newer format (BD) as the parent and the older format (DVD) as the child profile | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | I agree with Charlie on this one... if the package clearly shows the DVD to be the primary... then the profile should show the same. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Many Thanks for the example. Never seen this.
I think the newer format should always be taken as parent. I could imagine there will be some argueing about what is primary and I don't think we need more argueing.
This also something that could be changed easily local. (if the DVD child exists) So imho less pro than con. | | | Last edited: by VirusPil |

Quote: I could imagine there will be some argueing about what is primary and I don't think we need more argueing. I am not sure where the argument would come from as it is quite clear, at least on the sets I have seen, which is primary...one says Blu-ray + DVD and the other says DVD + Blu-ray. Edited for typo. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. | Posted: | | | | After a closer look: Perhaps I don't understand the feature request, because both media types are treated equal in a combo in DVDP. The only difference is the optional child profile, which is clearly ruled (Perhaps this should be a not a feature request, but a rule change request): Quote: Sets containing the same film on multiple media types (such as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack) are to be entered as a normal profile for the main media type (Blu-ray in this example), with all included media types checked. A combo which includes HD media (HD-DVD, Blu-ray) as well as DVD should use the details from the HD media in the main profile. However, you may add an additional profile by Disc ID for the DVD content and add this profile to the Box Set contents for the Blu-ray profile. Perhaps I should wait until I understand the feature request before writing more. Edit: Ok, I think I now I have it. It is because the program treats both ways equal and that's what should be changed. Edit2: How should this be done? What are your ideas? | | | Last edited: by VirusPil |

In such cases it's clear because of the sequence of the words. Hmm, but is this clear enough or just mere chance. What to do with the versions don't have media types on cover? Always HD as primary?! What to do with versions which have different cuts on different media types? I may be wrong, but I could imagine some users will find more than enough reasons to argue. Or I'm just very pessimistic. |
