| Posted: | | | | Hi, I'm a new user to the forums...but have been using Profiler since V2.0. A have a couple of tweeks I would like to request for future releases of DVD Profiler (possibly requested already?). First would be a utility within the 'Tools' menu to view ALL Actor and Crew photos. So they can be replaced (if necessary) to better ones from there. Secondly, a High Gloss Black & also Dark Green Theme. I feel the themes available are quite limited and don't seemed to have changed/been updated since V3.0 was released. Profiler is a wonderful application, and its layout a very important part to most users. Lastly (for now...lol). I'd like the ability to add a bit more information on the actors in my collection other than photo and birth year. Profiler is a powerful tool, and there is nothing commercially available to the likes of us that allows us to log actors movies, photos, DOB. I'd also like to add 'Place of Birth' and 'Died' (where applicable!) of an actor like 'Wikipedia' displays. If there was space in another tab instead, why not the actors bio? Basically allowing Profiler to be a more in-depth tool for movie and actor information....more than just a collection list. Why get information from various sources, when most can be collated in one place, just my feeling. |

I'm not really sure how this discussion ended. I personally wouldn't use it, but I can see how it might be interesting for many users. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Hey m8!
Thanx for your quick feedback on my post today. For the Profiler developers, I thought I should clarify better what I was hoping for on this 3rd idea. I'm not too sure how much work this would take. But what I was envisaging, is being able to click on an actors photo from the normal database view (which right now would pull up a list all the movies they featured in) and have an additional button there that links to one of the tab fields where their bios, place of birth, date died etc... can be found (within there, maybe a couple of drop-down menus for some info?). Just 'Brainstorming' right now, maybe some elements of this might be possible! |

| Posted: | | | | VirusPil has just shared a variation on my idea above regarding a box/tab for the profile page. This would be linked too from an actors name in the cast list of any movie, and I'm hoping would satifly those who want more indivual information in their database without upsetting those who don't care for it. The suggestion, would be to have a field that is linked to for actor information BUT is completed 'Locally' by the user (not part of the overall online database). This field could then contain an actors mini-bio, aka, nationality, death date (where applicable) etc.. No drop down menu's, just an entry field like the notes field that their name links too. I think this would be very useful feature for many users (especially me!), so I hope it can gain some support from forum users, for Invelos later consideration. Btw...thanx-a-plenty for your input VirusPil much appreciated | | | Last edited: by Blade185 |

| Posted: | | | | As written in the other thread: A tool for HS browsing would be great.
A Skin editor/more themes: Would be also very nice.
A (local) notes/trivia field for cast&crew: I think I would use it. (Maybe for tracking akas) So also a +1. |

| Posted: | | | | I would also like a note field for each actor. Maybe I can write the actor's profile, and info about him that would be a great addition |

| Posted: | | | | I am very disappointed beyond belief (to put it mildly!) with the latest version/update to Profiler! I never believed a few extra themes or a skin editor (as VirusPil suggested) was much to ask for? There are many editing functions that we all would have liked to have seen, but the layout needed a real refreshing too!
Most of the previous requested features by members I have read do not seem to have been incorporated in this version 3.8. It really makes me wonder if anybody is actually listening to what we want...or just adding to it what they want!! A real shame and missed opportunity here! |

| Posted: | | | | Actually most of the features added was taken from the feature request forum. I know at least 3 or 4 of the features I requested myself was added in this version. I know I for one think the added features this time around were much more satisfying then some more themes or a theme editor. To me being able to do more with my collection is much better then changing how the program itself looks. And that is something that will always be the case, imho.
Just because it wasn't added this in this version don't mean it isn't something that is in the works... or will come. It is just something that didn't make it for THIS version. There has been things that I had to wait 2 or 3 versions before was added. There is other things I am still waiting for. | | | Pete |

Eye candy is very low on my request list since we still have much bigger problems, Cast & Crew linking just to mention one. | Posted: | | | | I love the software, and when it went from version 2.0 to 3.0, it really showed me/us what could really be achieved within it. The more it can be fine-tuned or catered to individuals, the more it's enjoyable for me to use. I guess we maybe a bit spoiled in having the ability to request changes to be made to it, where most off-the-shelf packages on sale out there wouldn’t ever entertain user input. Still, all-in-all I’m a happy user of Profiler, just frustrated a new background wasn't available |
