| Posted: | | | | In times where more and more Blu-ray 3D are released or will be released I think it's time to add a media type "Blu-ray 3D". Right now there are only a few releases in "real 3D" but I think it will be more and more the further the time goes by. BD 3D will always be a niche product, no question, but if DVD Profiler wants to be the most actual movie collection program in future, I think it's time to add this to the "Media Types" section. Also with an option to choose a combo such as "Blu-ray + Blu-ray 3D + DVD" and the various other possibilities. With best regards | | | Not desperate. |

| Posted: | | | | I fully agree with Spicecat. Until now, often the real 3D releases are not easy to find. As a user of DVD Profiler it must be possible to search in your collection for real 3D films and to get them all at your fingertips. At the moment often 3D is in the title or in the edition like "3D Edition". But this is against the rules also mostly accepted. So this is a temporary solutions, but not really nice.
There are about 50 German real 3D films available, market growing, I own myself about 30 of them. So we need like DVD - Blu-ray - HD DVD also the choice and banner for "Blu-ray 3D" and the possible combinations for combos.
How do you in the States mark your 3D films so users can find there films without changing everything and lock it what most users even don't know how to do?
Thanks for help if you also agree we should have this new future fast.

| Posted: | | | | I have been won over to the argument it should be a media type rather than a feature as not all discs are backward compatible. | | | Last edited: by Ace_of_Sevens |

| Posted: | | | | While I have no interest in it, I don't see why it can't be added as a media type. Or at least in some form that can be searched in the online.
Maybe a sub-type of Blu-ray would be enough, with just an extra check box for 3D. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

| Posted: | | | | This has already been discussed. DVD is a Media, HD-DVD is a Media, Blu-ray is a Media, CD is a Media, VHS is a media. Blu-ray 3D is NOT a new Media. It's simply Blu-ray with a different codec recorded on it for 3D. It should go in the "Other Features" section of a profile for now and as I've stated before I fully support the addition of a tic box in the "Features" section for this. Besides, DVD Profiler already supports the addition of Custom Media Types which I use for my Blu-ray 3D titles . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection | | | Last edited: by Bad Father |

This is like asking for a new media for B&W movies, or for every different sound format. For some of these, checkboxes would be the solution. | | | Hans |

We could even replace another useless Feature like "Digital Copy", or "BD Live", with "3D". Or replace them all with one changing checkbox "Fancy Feature of the Year". 3D is immature and non-uniform. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played.
