| Posted: | | | | 1) Put Add Event on the Right Click menu. Shouldn't need to go through the view screen just to add 2) When you go to the Add Even window, default to the users field. It seems you can't just click watched and save it without a user .. so Why not start there. Not on the OK button 3) Although i might have a couple of users, must have if you want to loan any out, but I want it to default to my user for most every event ...
Thanks DSig |

Set yourself as a Principal User 1) ctrl-h still brings up the history screen. I don't want to view but add an event. Ctrl-w what .. right click 'watched by' .. there is no watched by. 2) a) i am principle user b) the User dropdown box should be highlighted as the first prompt in the screen. As you can see from the image it isn't. Instead the OK button is highlighted. c) right click --> on Watched by ... i do not see a field called 'Watched By' d) right click on User field and nothing happens. It does become blue (selected) but nothing is shown. If i ctrl-w, now that it is selected, i simply get a BEEP. e) if i click on User i get the normal list sorted alpha. 3) once again .. my user is set as default Just my experience .. i must be doing something wrong Thanks DSig |

Add event button can be found from history window Quote: Ctrl-w what .. right click 'watched by' .. there is no watched by. Right click the profile you want mark as watched to see "Watched by" as a right click menu option. Quote: 2) a) i am principle user And you have "Watches DVDs" checked for that user? Quote: b) the User dropdown box should be highlighted as the first prompt in the screen. As you can see from the image it isn't. Instead the OK button is highlighted. That why you should use "Watched by" function if you like to mark film as Watched. Not add event. |

Your users list is being filtered by rating. Either uncheck the 'Filter users by ratings' or change the users' maximum allowed rating under Tools->Edit Users. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

But that raises a couple of questions, sorry just trying to learn ... 1) why are users, especially the 'principle' user created at a 1? 2) since the users were created at 1, why are they able to see all profiles, edit all profiles etc. It doesn't really stop anyone from doing anything except saying they watched a dvd? Thanks again for the insight DSig |

Thanks again for the insight DSig Because the term users is somewhat misleading. These people are not users of this program, but rather users of your DVD collection. They use the collection by borrowing films or watching films. The principal user us just the guy who's most likely to have a watched event. For example, I have a user for myself and for my friends. I use my user to track what I've watched and what I haven't. And I use the other users to track what they've borrowed from me. But they don't get to enter watch data. The ratings sliders is intended for example if you have users that are your children and you want them to watch only age-apropriate stuff. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

But of course that doesn't keep them from watching .. only saying that they watched.

No. If you set the slider correctly and they try to sneak to the DVD shelf then DVD Profiler will activate and send a high-voltage shock to the DVD Player and fry it... I did not know that! |
