I use both the desktop (running on vmware on the mac) and ios apps. I would love the ability for the main database to be online, and any changes can be synced to both ios and desktop versions instead of downloading everything or having to connect the ios to desktop over wifi. Eg somebody borrows something - it is easy for me to update the loan status on my iOS, and sync that to the online collection, which can then be synced to the desktop when I next use it (instead of downloading the whole database), rather than having to start up the app on the vmware desktop and then sync.
