| Posted: | | | | Right now, it's a big pain to enter complex filters. For instance, if I wanted a list of all non-anamorphic DVDs, I would click the DVD check, wait 12 seconds, click the Blu-ray check, wait 12 seconds, click it again to uncheck, wait 12 seconds, click the HD DVD check, wait 12 seconds, click it again, wait 12 seconds, click widescreen, wait 12 seconds, click 16 x 9 enhanced, wait 12 seconds, then click it again and wait another 12. Add in clicking time and it takes about two minutes to get the filter set up. (This may be faster or slower depending on your collection size and computer speed.) I think we should at least have the option of not having the filter calculated until we finish checking everything and hit an "apply" button. | | | Last edited: by Ace_of_Sevens |

But i find for me it only takes some time when it initially filters a large subset. Once the results get smaller it is much quicker for me. But I'd welcome that as an option. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

| Posted: | | | | I do have a workaround, if you select two filters that result in no profiles in results, it's pretty much instantaneous to choose other filters since it's not returning any profiles. I then deselect the ones I don't want selected to display the ones I really want filtered. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

If it is important, say it. Otherwise, let silence speak. |

| Posted: | | | | Maybe a stupid question but why not simply save the filter set? Next time all you'd have to do is click on the right set. Doesn't help for the first time you use this set though. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | This is a reasonable request, but guaranteed if implemented, there will be at least one post per month along the lines of: "my filters don't work", with the answer "click Apply, dummy." Another possibility would be a new edit filter / save dialog to augment the instantaneous way it works today? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Quite possible. Easy way out: implement both ways, the current stays default and the apply-methond can be activated via configuration. Quote: Another possibility would be a new edit filter / save dialog to augment the instantaneous way it works today? Isn't there a plugin that makes this possible already? It's called MyTools or something like it if memory serves .... 1 is "unseen titles", to the right are following "profiles with retouched covers", "profiles with german audio or subtitle", "DVDs only" and "BDs only" ... the rest are command-files. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki | | | Last edited: by Mithi |
