| Posted: | | | | Just bought and saw the latest disney animation "Frozen". Award winning no less. Well, not bad, but I liked Tangled (Rapunzel) a lot better, that one didn't need Spoiler: (Select to view)a whining queen nor an extremely naive younger sister . But, why has Disney gone to such lengths to offend their customers / supporters / ...? The "making of.." is a silly song targeted at 4 year old Kindergarten kids. Nothing more substantial. Just plain offensive, IMHO. Your opinions? | | | Eric

I personally never had much use for Disney other then to keep the kids in the house happy for an hour while I did housework and so on. It may be my dirty mind but I found plenty of adult jokes in Frozen. The music was beautiful and somewhat catchy. You are correct though if you remember Disney from the 60s and 70s it is wayyyyyy different now. |

So did Beauty and the Beast, Bolt, A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Lion King, Monster's Inc., Mulan... (just kind of scanning straight down through my collection here.) You get the point. I agree with Eric. Both Tangled and Frozen are slim in the extras department. It could be they are seeing physical media as a fading business and are not bothering to add extras anymore since you will no longer get them when we reach an all-streaming age. But it is the extras that often draw me to buy a DVD in the first place. | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

| Posted: | | | | I buy blu-rays for the film, not for the extras. For me, extras are just that, extra. Was the making of silly? Yes. Was I offended? Not in the least. I enjoyed the film and that is all that really matters to me. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I totally agree about the extras.
I loved the film (I loved Tangled too) and wanted to watch an in-depth making-of to see how certain things were done, see the cast and hear their thoughts on the film etc etc. So, I was very disappointed with what extras there were.
My thoughts are that, at a later date, they'll release a bells 'n' whistles version with loads of extras.
Like MM I buy blu-rays for the films - but if it's a choice between a version with loads of extras or a version without I will always go for the extras.
I will never be someone who goes over to streaming as I really don't want to settle for the inferior quality. If the world of home entertainment EVER goes entirely virtual I will simply stop buying it and just be happy to rewatch what I own. |

| Posted: | | | | Is it possible they are pulling a Lucas? It does not appear that a 3D version was released in the U.S and any many cases anywhere else. Is it possible it will release later this year with better features as a way to push a second purchase? |

It has been released as a 3D at least in the Netherlands, France and Germany. | | | Eric
